With the New York Rangers having missed the 2024-25 NHL playoffs it was highly expected that head coach Peter Laviolette would get fired, and it has officially happened. Rangers also let go Phil Housley, alongside allowing other assistants, Michael Peca and Dan Muse, to interview for next season.

Give the team to peca add a real top 4D play the young kids and try to get back to the playoffs. That’s really the only way forward. Give it a season and then if not blow it all up. But this team is way better than this season shows.

Drury poisened the team w the infamous letter and the way he handled a few trades. His trades and player development have been below average. He hired two north south coaches and gave them finnesse teams.
The job is only half done! Drury is not a competent GM. He has poor interpersonal skills, poor leadership skills & poor communication skills. If Dolan is going to sit in on exit interviews, he should talk to the players without Drury present. Will the players open up? Who knows. Why should they trust Drury or Dolan for that matter? Dolan makes Drury President & GM, a disastrous move. It's like asking the cops to investigate themselves. After missing on 3 coaches, why would anyone trust Drury to pick the right guy! And with a record like that some prospective coaches might not want the job. Dolan should hire Messier as Gm. Experience will be the mantra against hiring him. When did experience ever guarantee success? Your leader must command attention, be flexible in his approach & know how to communicate with coaches & players. Messier is like Hutton, when he talks you listen. Drury is the one who destroyed team morale & tanked the season. As one employee stated–"A wall went up & people were afraid to communicate." Drury is guilty as charged!
