@shred5 difference is Boston players fight when any contact is made with them whether its a clean hit or a little bump after the whistle. And no one is going to deny bostons going to win most fights. They can dish them out but they can't take them.

@speedersean Because he's talented and consisten offensively, he logs lots of hits per game, he's got speed and good hands for a guy his size, he creates lots of space and is strong on the puck, he's super-effective around the net and defensively sound and he plays for his entire team and the logo on the front, not the name on the back.

Hockey fighters know the fight will be broken up once one of them gasses out. Watch MMA if you want to watch a fight, hockey fights have become an unnecessary sideshow for knuckle dragging freaks who shouldn't be in the NHL. I used to enjoy hockey fights, but that was before there was real fighting on TV every few days. Hockey fights just seem so childish and stupid now, there is absolutely no point.

They cleaned up rugby, hockey is just a bit behind. Hockey at the highest level barely has any fights anyway (Olympics, most of the time in the Playoffs), it's still there because it attracts some kinds of fans but I think the NHL would gain more fans without it. Anyway the best 2 teams in the league right now don't have a goon (van/det).
These announcers are a joke, Lucic gets pissy about a late hit but charging millers in his book of tricks. Leave it to bruins fans to call Joel ward names. That's really surprising.
