I'm going to miss sam. Ever since I started watching the Rangers on ch 9 wwor tv sam has always called the games . I started watching the same time he started calling games so nearly my entire life . I had the fortune to meet Sam & JD . It was their bobblehead night at the garden & i was determined to get it signed. I snuck up to the booth after the game dodging security and waiting for the post game to end . JD came out frist with Howie Rose . JD sign my bobblehead it was great meeting him, he's a great man who was very happy to sign My Bobblehead and take a picture with me we chatted for a bit then he left. After a while Sam came out by himself. I approached him and ask him if he would sign my bobblehead and take a picture which he was more than happy to do. Then we started talking & i though he'd chat for a couple of minutes & excuse himself to leave, but we stayed there talking for nearly an hr all hockey, of course. We even got on the elevator together all the while still talking hockey. After the elevator ride we said our goodbyes . I couldn't believe & still can't believe the experience i had something I'll never forget . What a great man so generous with the fans so passionate & knowledgeable about hockey I just can't say enough about him. We're all going to miss you Sam & thank you. P.S. if you ever have something in your life that last a long time cherish it because it doesn't happen often .
