LeBrun on Habs’ playoff berth, Flames’ future, Battle of Ontario

Did you predict the Canadiens to make the postseason? How do the Flames view their season after just missing the postseason? How nervous should Leafs fans be about their matchup? How do you expect the Avalanche and Stars matchup going in Round 1? TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

  1. I believed the habs could make the playoffs but these hopes we're very low at the beginning and before their winning string in December it was written in the sky that we would finish 5 6 or 7 worst in the league. I never imagined that the rags, bruins, Canucks would miss the playoffs in the beginning of the season. What a roller-coaster season this year

  2. Won't matter when the big 4 go silent like always and completely disappear. I think most of Canada will be pulling for Ottawa in this series and it will be a true test for the Leafs goaltending.

  3. A.i. might be able to tell you what I said about the Montreal
Canadians at the start of this 2024-25 Season… 1000yrs from now.

    "Right On Right On!"

  4. IF Berube wasn't the coach of the Leafs this year , then I'd be worried and call it the same ole same ole ! Do I think Toronto will win the cup ? HELLS NO ! There's too many good teams in the East to favor the Leafs !

  5. Since we're talking about Columbus, it was also nice of them to give the Habs Laine at such an affordable price, really nice guys there.

  6. Oh ..yee of little Faith ..!! The youngest team to EVER make the playoffs ..!! The future looks very bright for MONTREAL .!! GO HABS ….!!

  7. My scares a real from the last battle of ontario..as a leaf lifer!! Iam never been nervous IAM so nervous!! stay that GO LEAFS!! I will always bleed blue and white 💙 🤍..

  8. At the start of the year, I was telling people the Habs were growing and that they would be in the mix, fighting for a wild card spot, but that it would be tight…I didn't realize how right I was. This has been a crazy season, and I'm glad it's continuing. Go Habs Go!

  9. when I was MSL literally benched Demidov, in this exact game, I knew immediately this coach will never win anything.

You can be a brilliant tactitian, strategist, know the game, but when you're acoward, anything else doesnt matter.

in the absolute critical game he benches his best player, a flaming freaking star, thats a move of a coward.

Somebody from Montreal tell St Luis – cowards never win, who dares – wins. Get rid of that literal chicken sh**, with him the team will never win anything.

  10. This was great Jay. But I must say you have to bring back your special relationship with Bobrovsky during the battle of Florida and make sure the world knows if he’s back on the case 😉😂

  11. Once the proudest history in all of sports, they've been pretty irrelevant for, what, a quarter century plus? Watching Larry Robinson & Guy LeFleur kick the sh•t outta my Blackhawks in the late 70's was a privilege. Excellence is something to behold. (I know we almost gotcha once or twice in the early 70's but I was a babe – lol.)
And don't mention that recent Final run, that was hockey weirdness – they were destined to get hammered in the end.
Hockey's way more interesting when the Habs are in the mix. Solve it already!

  12. The Canadiens are the youngest team to make the NHL Playoffs. That's an astounding record in itself! Man, what a bright future!

  13. Columbus deserves credit..a tribute season for #13. Habs, although had some luck, worked so hard down the stretch and I worry the tank is empty.

  14. The ability to say I was wrong is so powerful. There is some orange guy in the United States that does not have that ability.

  15. The Habs will be dangerous because they have nothing to lose against other teams that have everything to lose, hahaha Go Habs Go

  16. The teams talent is out growing MSL's poor coaching. Also, their in the fourth year of the rebuild now.

  17. I know Carolina sat their best 3 or 4 players but… For the habs to CLAW out of the basement in the second half of the season… even if they hadn't made it, still would've been a great season.

  18. Leave it to Pierre Lebrun to be asked about the great Habs story and instead of focusing about that he brings up Columbus. You’re a joke Pierre and a Habs hater

  19. As long as MSL is the head coach, this team will never win a cup! They can't get the puck out of their own end (for the past 3 yrs), and the team is SOFT! MSL doesn't value big, tough, and aggressive players, that's why Arber is now a bench warmer. With Arber out, the Caps will crush the fragile Canadians. Get rid of MSL and get a real Coach!!!!!!

  20. Lebrun for 3 months before trade deadline :

Evans & Savard are getting traded

Insider = anyone with an opinion
