If Stuart Skinner plays like an NHL goalie, the Kings are done in 6.
If Stuart Skinner plays like he did most of the year, the Oil is done in 5.
Skinner will have to elevate his game even further, to offset the absence of Ekholm. He will be the deciding factor.
LA will be done in 5 or 6. They could face any play off team and be done in 5 or 6. Its obvious. They have massive depth issues and their top 6 is a top 9 on most teams.
Shannon, no way, shape or form did Stuart Skinner lead the Oilers to the Cup Final! McDavid/Draisaitl heavily carried the team! Every series Skinner's numbers became worse. For the Oilers now, the teams win % is much better with Pickard in net than Skinner!

It literally all comes down to McJesus and Draisitl. If they are healthy enough to carry the team. If they are, LA gets steamrolled. If they aren’t, I think it goes to game 6/7 and is a close series

I think adding a "down after 2" stat would be good. Habs come to mind as a team that can come back into the 3rd period.
I love watching all the pundits pick the Kings. The Oilers always start the playoffs like they forgot how to play hockey and need to re-learn from scratch. They beat the Kings despite giving up wins by being discombobulated. The Kings are the whetstone of the Oilers.

The west is so crazy that I could see the oilers winning the cup or going out first round. Nobody is safe.
The Oilers are the true wildcard. While healthy this team is way better. They just have never been fully healthy since before the deadline. After Game 1 we will know what Oilers we have.

I have no idea what to expect out of this series. This is the best LA Kings team the Oilers have faced, however, I don't think the team is as banged up as you said, with the exception of Ekholm. I think a lot of the top guys have had lots of time off in the last few weeks, hopefully they're all rested and feeling good. I think the Oilers have room to surprise people, still.
I have oilers winning. For starters the Kings r really good this season but The oiler have been injured since the 4 nations. Those numbers mean nothing. If the oilers come out healthy with mcdavid drai nuge hyman and every other guy it should be the same as all 3 other years. Good Luck Kings Fans.
Picking this series based off of season numbers when Edmonton has never had a full lineup is certainly a choice. No Ekholm does hurt but if everyone else back. Good luck.

I wanted to watch this series because I hope this season LA will beat Oilers. But every time I remember that on purpose hit of Tanner Jeannot to the head of Brock Boeser and think it'll be better to watch any other series 😢
Speaking of special teams, the Oilers have had an exceptionally higher PP% in the last three series. It can't be emphasized enough that the Kings have to be disciplined in this series. That being said, I don't expect the Kings to stay disciplined enough and this series will go much like the previous.

Kings in 6… Goaltending is why. The odd person is 90 the worm on Edmonton. He could upset the outcome.

Connor was flying. Leon is a beast. LA is gunna be tough but no one brings the gas like those two in the league.
If Edmonton’s Achilles’ heel is once again they’re goaltending during these playoffs… I will think that the ownership is insane because you have such an amazing core of players not to mention the greatest player in the world and then one of the next greatest players in the world.. maybe you’re thinking of Skate and just score more goals than they do… but to watch them not even try to make some moves between the posts after McDavid Single-handedly brought the team back from a 3-0 deficit too force a game 7 and than go on to lose… I imagine they have the same mentality as Florida did last year with them being the runners up the previous year.
But if the Oilers make a deep run and the lack of talent between the posts shows… I just don’t know what they’re thinking
I'm cautiously optimistic the Kings are going to win. Can the Oilers actually beat the Kings 4 first rounds in a row,? I don't think so.
Even if the Oilers win, they will have trouble hopefully against Vegas. If a Canadian team comes out of the west, I hope it's the Jets.
Im glad oilers are the underdog and everyone is counting them out already. Considering they played the last month or two with basically none of their top players is miraculous. It was also strategic to pull some guys the last few weeks. Give them time to rest before the real grind of the playoffs. It made the stats look not the greatest going into the playoffs but as we all know regular season and playoffs aren't the same whatsoever.
Playoff Jeff Skinner is gonna be a beast that nobody is familiar with, potentially a goal per game player
