I don’t think fans pay attention to the “take home” of an NHL player. Federal/state/city taxes, agent fees and when it applies Escrow. Then you retire between 35 and 40. That 30% take home has to cover your entire life. They still make a ton, but if they live until they’re 80-85 and get divorced in that time it’s not as much as people think.
