I don't know if it's because English isn't his first language, but Petey's lack of answers and self-awareness is definitely concerning. He talked about how he had a leg injury last off-season. He could easily use that as an excuse of why he didn't have time to train And in turn his skating speed was slower. I really hope he takes this off season seriously.
Pettersson’s locker clean out media availability was disgusting. He blamed his parents for having bad genetics which is why he said his lower body is weak and when asked why hos production has dropped off a cliff over the last 18 months he said he doesn’t know why. Absolutely no passion or fire in his comments. No one will trade for him after listening to his end of season excuses.
They all look like they just got back from a funeral. Go to Toronto and train with the best players in the league that do. Or maybe he’s to intimidated by strong legged men.
EP40 is nothing like Bure.. Bure is so driven to be the best and works on it.. I think he sounds so broken..

It sucks that he hurt his knee last season and that explains what we all saw in the playoffs and lines up with what Tocchet said about Petey being behind on his training. I wonder if his knee didn’t improve much this year? Petey seems to get overwhelmed when something isn’t working, such as his wrist a few seasons back or his knee in this case, almost like if he can’t be a 110 pt center, he defaults to probably not even an NHL center, quite frankly (at his worst, I can’t imagine him doing well in the AHL, but at his best, he’s reminiscent of Gretzky for cripe’s sakes). I really hope they make sure his knee is better but his mind really seems to be an issue—he can really seem like an Alien indeed. I really wish him all the very best this off season. As truly great as Quinn is, and Quinn is the best defenceman I’ve ever seen, Vancouver needs both of them (our “Orr-light” and our “Gretzky-light”) to have any chance at a Cup with this group. It’s astonishing how great they were for the first half of last season… at least they have four months to get themselves prepared and back on track! 🖤💛❤️

I understand the hate towards Petey but I think a lot of if not all of that stems from his contract. If he’s not making 11.6 the fans wouldn’t be saying half of this. His contract isn’t entirely his fault either. His agent and management agreed on what they thought he was worth. You could argue he gave up once he got paid but people know he has that talent. Unfortunately for us as Canucks fans, it’s our star forward that this happened to. We could also not have a salary cap in hockey and again I’m sure this would be a non issue. There’s a lot of variables. What I do know is if he’s rebounds next year back to 90-100+ points then there won’t be all this noise
