lol bob stauffer makes me laugh, he was so confident that the red wings would make the playoffs a month after their coaching change lolol. Oilers are still obviously a good team but this Kings team is much better than the last 3 seasons. Byfield is playing on another level, Fiala had a very poor performance in the playoffs last season but i see him being a big factor this time around. Their third line of Moore-Danault-Foegele is a very strong line, Foegele had over 40 points all in even strength. Kuemper is also much better than Talbot, Quick and Korpisalo. That being said, Kopitar and Doughty are older now and will be less effective and I see a slight weakness in their defense core, I could see young Clarke and Spence get expose by the speed of the Oilers. Oilers can win IF depth guys like Brown, Janmark, Skinner, Henrique and Arvidsson can produce in this series.
Regardless of how these two teams finished the season the playoffs is an all new one, looking at all the different odds and projections the Oilers are 49% and the Kings 51% to win the series. It’s going to come down to goalies. My prediction is Kings in 5 unless the Oilers can win one in LA and one at home, then it’s Oilers in 7.
Losing the first 2 Games of Round #1 is = stepping on a Banana Peel in the morning….Excuses excuses excuses….. this is not good already……. Walman is not good enough, to many injuries,to many olde Timers, this is just an off year….Stanley Cup hangover….. Oilers need to re-set….Flames are Rising now……Oilers need a Goalie right now or Wolf will make them irrellevant for ten years. If they dump the first 2 games it could be awfully quick and painless. Theres hardly anything being done in Edmonton to get Fans worked up,no Promotions no attention, the City is not in synch.
Jack is hoping for a long Series as he feels that favors the Oilers. Sadly I see it over in 4, straight up 2+ goal wins by the Kingsmen not 2-1 type of closer games…… Goaltending is the Oilers Achillies Heel and will be until they plug the hole, so nothing to see here the Oilers will get "Goalied" early and often..
