The Minnesota Wild clinched a playoff spot and the top Wildcard spot as they beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 in Overtime to finish the regular season at 44-30-7. The Wild fell behind 2-1, and got the game tying goal with Joel Eriksson Ek with under a minute to play to send the game to overtime. Marc-Andre Fleury came in during the overtime session to get one final send off from the fans. The Wild got their first goal from Marcus Johansson to take a brief 1-0 lead. Filip Gustavsson stopped 22 of 24 shots during regulation and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped all 5 shots he faced in Overtime. The Wild were perfect on the Penalty Kill and did not score on their 2 Power Play opportunities. The Wild will play the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs starting this weekend.

I agree but you know what Seth. What do Wild fans expect? If you don't have the skill or are aren't an elite team then this is how you win. It's not gonna last past one series. You blow the tires out early. Goalie on Ducks is the real deal. Don't expect more than 5 or 6 games.

Unless gus is ELITE in the playoffs I'm not sure wild get more then a game off Vegas. With how pathetic offense has looked even gus being elite won't win the series offense gotta do more then 1 or 2 goals a game . That was a real dog-fight against an absolute bottom feeder. The Ducks best players are 50-point scorers. This pre-season, I predicted the Wild would miss playoffs. I fully expect the 1st round to go 5 games with Vegas moving on. BUT we don't have a 2025 1st rd pick so a few extra games will be fun………

The Wild did what they needed to do, so let’s enjoy as we get more hockey 🏒. I’ll be in a minority here but feel the Wild can give Vegas fits.
A) they are better on the road, so, getting on the road should be advantageous
B) Ek verses Eichel – understanding Vegas top line is outstanding – maybe they can be neutralized
C) 97, still ramping up his game and getting into NHL mode
D) Buium is a wildcard, he has to be better then Merrill – give him a shot – especially on PP
E) goaltending – Wild’s favor
F) Pietrangelo might be nicked up – no Marchessault this go around.
I expect 6-7 games – maybe I’m completely off the screws here, but why not?
Haven't missed a game on the tele in 5 years and some nights the boyz are just Laissez-faire. Wild can't get past the first round playing like that.
Depending on Columbus the Wild could be the only team in the playoffs with a negative goal differential 😮
