The St. Louis Blues are back in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and Bernie is charged up!
In this episode of The Bernie Show, Bernie Miklasz previews the Blues’ first-round matchup against the heavily favored Winnipeg Jets.
He breaks down why the pressure is squarely on Winnipeg, why goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is vulnerable in the playoffs, and why the Blues’ turnaround under Jim Montgomery makes them dangerous. Could this be a 2019-style run? Bernie makes the case.

so youre tellin me there is still a chance?
we have Binner , were gonna be good
Let's gooo bluesssssssss
Exciting stuff indeed Bernie. Great discussion about our beloved Blues who I believe will beat the Jets in 6 games. With Parrayko back, we have an edge over most; including the Jets.
Go Bernie!!! You bet buddy my thoughts as well!!! 2 %. I will take it 11:00
There’s a bar here in Dallas that completely maxes out with Blues fans in the playoffs on game days, loaded with Blues jerseys and flags and screaming fans. It’s literally like someone packed all of St Louis into a little corner in uptown Dallas. I’ll be there rooting on my native town as often as I can for this. LGB!
Definitely different players and a different system, but Montgomery has a history of choking recently as well. Gotta take that into some account
First home game Thursday has an 8:30 start. I tell ya' we just can't get no respect!
It's the playoffs. You can throw all the numbers out the window. we have as much a chance to win as they do, and imo in big games, we have the best goalie in hockey
#PresidentsTrophyCurse #Jobu #LGB
Go Jets Go!!! But seriously, best of luck to the Blues. If they bump the Jets, I'll be rooting for ya! Cheers!
I flew to Denver from my home in Montana to see the Blues only to watch them get beaten by the Avs 5-0 at the end of Jan. I sat in the upper deck and to my surprise there were probably over half of the fans in the upper deck wearing the Bluenote. There were a lot of despondent Blues fans at the end of that game but look at us TODAY! Let's Go Blues!
Spot on Bernie, great vid. I fully believed in late Jan the slump they were in at that time would do them in… a month later they win 12 straight & were quite dominant in doing so. Incredible run/season regardless of the Winnipeg series outcome, however I expect them to be a high competitive this series v jets. Either way thank you Boston for canning Monty!
Blues in 6. Thanks Bernie….always great!!!!
Y’all seem to be conveniently overlooking how the Jets dominated the Blues just over a week ago, ending their 12 game win streak.
Jets in 4 or 5.
Good job young man! Can't help but feel the positive mojo. LGB!!
Bernie if you like pick six so much why don’t you give out some pics man. I think we would like to hear who you are wagering on
The reason why the Blues usually did not fare well in the playoffs over the years despite good players and teams was at the goalie position. They had several good goalies but not the stopper in playoffs as we have seen from Jordan Binnington, who though streaky is the greatest Blues goalie ever. Binnington enables the Blues to win games when outplayed. Three seasons ago the Blues would have beaten the Avs in the playoffs if not for the Kadri incident likely taking away a second Cup. This should be a very good series and Winnpeg must now overcome their own playoff woes. I do think the Blues will greatly miss power forward Holloway. Right now this feels like 2019 all over again with Montgomery instead of Berube. It all comes down to Binnington versus Hellebuch.
I have a ton of confidence in this team!
Even though we are “young” we have 5 guys from the cup team, and vets like, Sutter, Leddy, Fowler, Faulk, Faksa, who have all played in big time games.
I have said this before, Bolduc is a big game player, he’s proven that in juniors and down the stretch this year.
Monty is also out to prove himself as a coach. Boston under performed n the playoffs with him, so he’s extra motivated.
In my mind the biggest advantage is Binny. Hellebuck is the “best” goalie in the world, he’s given up 42 goals in his last 10 playoff games, 2-8 record.
You don’t need to be a math scientist to know that’s bad.
On top of that Binny beat him in the 4 nations.
Needless to say I think Binny is firmly in their head.
I’ve made this comparison before, Binny is the Chris Carpenter of the Blues. You need to win one game, I wouldn’t want any other goalie playing.
The cliche is “the series doesn’t start until the home team loses”
If we win one in Winnipeg we will win the series. They have loads of pressure and have historically flamed out.
Good stuff Bernie, LGB!!!
The Blues have cup winners as well don’t forget. Binner, Parayko, Sunny, Schenn and Thomas. Jets have Luke Schenn. I would say The Blues have the better experience here and with solid goal tending and fiery youth. That’s not a bad combo I reckon.
Jets in 5 😢😢😢
