If Montreal is at the stage where they are almost assured to pick in the bottom half of the 1st round for the next few years, perhaps an offer sheet is an option. Any quality RFA centers that fits the mold? Vilardi? McTavish?

WHY did all the MTL fans says patience over and over and kept making excuses saying ti would take 5 years but for the past 6 months all I hear is a PUSH NOW trade away assets/draft picks and NO PATEINCE.

This team was NOT a playoff team they did not play good enough they got VERY lucky to get in.This team needs to continue to build assets you never want to miss out on the NEW talent coming in you ruin your franchise like that by over spending on the NOW factor then what follows is an exodus of contracts trying to get under the cap.
MTL doe NOT even have a second line that makes this team a LONG way off being a legit contender we NEED draft picks we do NOT want to trade them away.
BTW I been a Misa fan for years I called him a franchise years ago but NOT now he is imo an average player he is good but not elite.
The real deal is McKenna if we want to trade away picks then do it to move UP in next years draft.
I would be working on SJ/Chi to get their first round pick I would give almost anything to get it.I would unload Laine real quick he is going to be worthless very soon.I would think SJ having already some good young talent might like a laine I know Laine is crap but seems around the league many are fooled maybe they give us a first pick for him.

Use the picks to continue to add to the prospect pool keeping in mind there will be another expansion draft in the future.
Never trade away that 2nd round pick , habs find gems in that round.
Looking back at recent drafts. It feels only KK was a big miss, could have had Brady Thachuk but would habs ever pick someone like that…
I am just guessing would be nice to see Habs go after a Brayden Schenn or Couturier, both have NMC or NTC so could be moot.

Everything he said was correct except for the west being competitive the were top heavy but also had the worst teams, ie more easy wins.
You try to get mitch marner you give our 2 first round+mailloux for marner and you give à chance to newhook on the second line at center with marner and demidov not so bad

I know it would be extremely unlikely to happen but imagine trading for Stamkos. Stamkos as a 2C would be a dream, Demidov with Stammer would feed families.
Would Chandler Stephenson be the guy you want from Seattle to be a 2C? No way Seattle would trade Wright or Beniers and I feel like Schwartz isn't the right fit as he's also pretty small.
