He's 27… Few days ago, the question was "will anyone beat Ovi's record?" My continuing thought is "will anyone break 1000?" I'm not saying it's him but he's in a really good position to do so

Matthews scoring 400 in 628 games is impressive! He outpaced Ovechkin's 400 in 634 games by a smidge (6 games), and is the 6th fastest to get there (Ovechkin's now 7th fastest). But you want to know what's really crazy? Ovechkin got his next 400 goals in his next 671 games! That means Ovechkin's 2nd set of 400 goals would have been good enough for 10th fastest! That's insane high-scoring consistency. I just don't think Matthews will be able to maintain that pace for the next 600 games. But still, an amazing accomplishment!
