  1. Jesse, how DARE – putting Hellebuyck on fraud watch all year and NOW you decide it's gonna be Jets in 4?! For shaaame Mr. Blake
(I'm just an easily hurt Blues fan lol)

  2. What people seem to forget is that while the Jets have lost in the first round the last 2 years, it was against Vegas in 2023 and Colorado in 2024. Both were, and still are, heavy contenders for the cup. The Jets have had some of the toughest first round matchups in the playoffs for the last 2 years. They were the underdog in ‘23 and lost to the eventual cup champs, and playing Colorado in the playoffs is like trying to hold back a tidal wave with your bare hands. This year, they are the best team in the league, have the best goalie in the world, and aren’t playing a Cup favourite in the first round. You have to look at the context of the stats and not just the stats themselves

  3. Flagging myself as a Blues fan – I think it will be interesting to see if Winnipeg has any yips. Blues are playing here with house money. Jets haven't been really favored to win a round in a bit going against Vegas and Colorado the last few years. Jets are certainly the better team, but any team always can be goalied or just struggle without reason.
Just happy the Blues made it, have good fresh talent coming up with Bolduc, Snuggy and Dvorsky, and are showing the kids how to win instead of tanking to the point that the organization forgets what it looks like (*cough blackhawks/redwings/sabers cough*)

  4. Scheifele and Ehlers were hurt last year and Perfetti didn't play. Ehlers is again hurt but the Jets secondary scoring is better this year by far.

  5. I have a really difficult time believing these playoffs will go any differently than the past for the Jets. There isn’t a notable game-changer they added, their defense is still a significant weakness with Pionk playing in a contract year and no longer having Brendan Dillon. Maybe the coach is what was needed, but I’m not buying Winnipeg stock

  6. Blues have been the best team in the league since 4 Nations. Yes, better than Winnipeg. Just 2019, they caught fire at the right time. Dangle, you dismiss their chances at your peril. That's okay, just gives you a reason to have an explosion video 😀

  7. The one thing I keep saying about Binner is that he’s never going to be a stats darling. If you don’t watch him every game, you won’t see the appeal. The only clips people ever remember are 2+ year old clips of his “antics,” which I suppose helps the Blues because people think they can get him off his game rather than coming up with a game plan on how to deal with how much he handles the puck.

Even since the break, yes his stats are looking better, he had a few games (especially against Colorado) where he just took over the game, but I stand by that his second half of last season was actually better, because the team in front of him was a mess. He still nearly managed to drag his team to the playoffs then.

I don’t know who will win this series, but as a Blues fan, I think this playoffs is more about getting the young core playoff experience than anything else. If they win, great. But as long as they put up a good fight, I’m just excited about seeing this team compete the next several years.

  8. Blues in 7, Binnington shows up big in another big game….just for fun. As a Blues fan, I don't really care because just making the playoffs this year was enough for me!

  9. Dangle picked Jets in 2019 that means BLUES IN 6. You forget we have Binnington, he wipes the floor with Helle what's his name.

  10. so let me get this straight….

the regular season doesn’t mean anything…..

but Binnington’s sloppy 4 nations cup behind best team in the world does???

    lolol

i’m not saying the jets will win… but the hypocrisy of that statement is laughable.

  11. Such a weird series upcoming here, but i think the loss of Holloway should he not be able to go is going to be detrimental enough to derail the blues chances moreso than the Ehlers injury would derail the Jets. Holloway's contribution and tenacity is the reason why they essentially had 3 lines, and in order to kinda fix the lineup to where they can play without him at times it has reduced the blues to a 1 line team for offense. If Holloway were to magically show up for game 1, the impact to their teams functionality line-to-line would greatly favor the blues despite how good Ehlers can be.

I think the Jets win this series, but they can't afford to play around in this series or have the yips. If it gets later in the series the blues will physically wear them down and prvent them from getting further, and will be under threat of big game binnington showing up.

  12. Blues going into the playoffs on a hot streak, matching up against Winnipeg for the first round

Stop me if you've heard this one before….

    Blues in 6
