  1. Id be lying If I said I'm shocked they found a way to lose. Hopefully they will get rid of the deadweight on this team this offseason.

  2. Another failed season for Larkin.  If the "leader" of this team falls apart when times are tough – how can we expect anyone else to give their all?  They are trying to build on a weak foundation – it'll never work

  3. Brutal. Well with the young guys we have getting better and the more on the way, this team can only get better. Looking forward to next season

  4. Todd McLellan not having Cat and Kane out together w the net empty (if he was intent on having them both out w the net empty), then not having them together in OT (as he literally never has even once despite them being one of the great OT duos in the entire league), is braindead coaching and is why this loss and the earlier loss vs St Louis in OT happened. Terrible inexcusable coaching. I can send Todd a full compilation of Cat and Kane playing OT together. It's all since 2021, Kane was always slow and injured/post injured and old during it. Yet there they are, brilliant together in OT. Is it bc they're both wingers? Newsflash genius, there's no faceoffs in 3v3 overtime. One at the beginning, that's generally it. After that it's a possession game, and there are no positions. When the Wings get possession, remove Marco from the game and put Kane out w Cat. Marco is a very nice player but he is not Kane in OT, and certainly is not a better combo w Cat than Kane is w all that open ice, in a game of breakaways.

This was an infuriating thing that had built up over the last 2 or 3 OT periods where he misused Kane, and culminated in this today.

If Todd had been the coach last year in Chicago we never would have gotten that all time moment in NHL history. He wouldn't have allowed them on the ice together. Not sure how an NHL head coach can be that unaware of his own personnel or what they do together in certain situations.

  5. Also, if Kane comes back, this is something Todd will literally have to figure out. It can cost you the playoffs. It can cost you multiple games a year, not having them together in OT. It's just an inexplicably dumb self-inflicted mistake. They played 79 games together on the Wings before Todd was hired, were on the ice for 4 OT winners together. It's what they do.

  6. they might just keep Holl because hes cheap. But i say buy out and send him packing. We need that money spent where it counts.

  7. larks just seems miserable, man. there’s SO much to be excited for next season. i understand this sucks. but be a leader and show the boys a little optimism for the future. can’t always be a doomer larks

  8. Even when you fix the game and you're all in on it, you want more. Why don't you just recognize what you've created?

  9. It is easy to criticize Dylan & others but you can understand the disappointment and frustration, remember optimism with out realism only leads to disillusionment. Let's hope they can fix it for next year. Still a Wing Fan !

  10. Maybe, Todd knows they're Planning to get rid of Kane next year, so he didn't put them out there. He seems to be experimenting with combos. He's got Seiider and Edvinson on the same pair again(At least last game). Maybe this one too I didn't get to see the whole game just highlights). He has Berger on the first line to see what he can do and to showcase him for trades. Same with the goalies, etc. They already know what Mrazek can do. He played here for years. SY mentioned he picked up Peter when he did, because He wasn't positive that He would land the goalie He wants this summer for the net. He Indicated that He had someone in mind! The goalie market was tough so he picked up Petr while he could. Maybe if He gets who he wants He'll trade Petr again this summer.

  11. Additionally, For like the millionth time larkin was injured prior to the four game tournament. Obviously he was way worse after that.

  12. the only thing im happy about this season being over is i dont have to read comments from all you shitty ass fairweather wings fans that gather here after every game. there is so much promise in this team and they are going to be really good for years to come, its all about the future. thats what they are building and im not surprised you couch potatos cant see it. the defense is coming, the goalies are coming, the core will be back, young guys will take a step in development. next season is going to be legit

  13. Finally it's over.
So is it time for golf or hit the gym guys?

    > Looking forward to what a preseason and camp can mean for McLellan for next year. Is there an increased risk that his frustration is increasing and that he is starting to sound like a broken record as a former coach for S25/26?

    > Not looking forward to what RW GM can do with a lot of money lying around. His track record doesn't impress anyone, quite the opposite.

    > Looking forward to who in the RW pipe takes the step up and becomes Kasper/Johansson next year? If RW has such depth in their pipe as some claim, then at least two should graduate?

    > Also looking forward to seeing if the team still has all the dead meat left in their line up after the off season ends, or if their GM finds his groove?

    > Also looking forward to seeing if S.f.Y gets fired in the summer or not.

  14. I love how everyone is talking bad about red wings I hope they prove everyone wrong so they can so All the haters can leave them alone

  15. Who would have thought the Pistons would have turned things around before the Red Wings..Very stagnant team.Let's be clear wait til next year still means that at best they barely sneak into playoffs..Seems to be a low bar..Only hope is Todd can weed out the dead weight..

  16. Stupid season of the year! Smarten up for next season, you puck heads! And I don’t care about who you get rid off or who you get or bring in: Just have Cossa between the pipes!

  17. Obviously an incredibly difficult position as a captain. On the one hand you need to show humility and be humble after having your ass handed on a plate in a season summary performance your final game but at the same time you should be an energising leader that sparks hope for good things to come. I will definitely say, though they’re trying to tone it down when it comes to talking and praising young talent, and instead trying to redirect detention to players who have apparently improved, hopefully means that we are preparing the ground for a lot of trades and upgrades. Mo & Si need to be able to focus on point production whilst maintaining the defensive game but definitely need workable second and third pairs they’d let them flourish instead of destroy whatever the forward 6 produce. I sincerely hope that Todd has found his alternate captains and builds a solid team around Larks to build a winning culture with accountability

  18. I’m so tired of he the same monotone interviews from Larkin. Guy has no fire or passion. He already had his golf bag and luggage packed after the 4 nations.

  19. 🤷‍♂️with a new nhl proven headcoach revamped defensive core new forward additions from the draft next season should tell the tale of this redwing team?! 🤷‍♂️💪🤷‍♂️👍

  20. Way to embarrass yourselves one last time boys. I’m so tired of listening to Larkin almost about to cry every loss.

“I think we did some good things tonight” every team does “good things” every night, but you have to do more good things than bad things to win hockey games.

  21. Todd McLellan – "Justin Holl got better as the season wore on." While this may be true, MAYBE, he is still the weak link on the D. 100%. Come on Todd!!!! We need help on the D, we need a consistent Goaltender, and we need to trade Tarasenko lol. Sorry but its true.

  22. Well, there's some good news. Petry, Husso and Lyon won't be back. But still saddled with Chiarot, Compher, Copp, Mrazek and Tarasenko contracts.
Yzerman was a great player but his tenure as GM has been disappoining. I can't believe Petry was making more then Marchand.
BTW, Mantha is a UFA. Could always bring him back.😂😅
