Hes going to get 10m but I hope the oilers do a sign and trade. They are going to enter F*cksville next year with trying to sign Mcdavid.

Underrated aspect of Bouchard’s game is his ability to get the puck out of the d-zone. He provides the majority of his defensive value by transitioning the team to offence when he’s on the ice. Sure he’s abysmal at preventing entries but he’s 25 and defensive ability usually increases with age
Bouch at anything under 10 is a good deal
I absolutely love the guy, I think a contract around 9.5 or 9.75 is perfect value for him. He's elite on the offensive side of the puck, with good vision and hockey IQ, and average to maybe below average on the defensive side of the puck. The only reason I think we'd sign him for 10+ is because the cap is going up, so it won't be super difficult to sign mcdavid for whatever he may be asking
EB is still young, and his offensive attributes are worth waiting for his defence to be more consistent. Pay him what he is worth.
I love Bouchard and hope we keep him, but he doesn’t FEEL like a number 1 defenceman. I wouldn’t trust him on PK, or when you’re trying to hold onto a lead, and it also feels like he gets a lot of his offence from secondary points coming off of McDavid or Draisaitl. This year, when either one of them or both of them have been out he feels near invisible. I still would pay him like 8.5×8 or something like that. 9.5 max though…
Evan Bouchard broke another record last season in the finals.
He be became the most abused defender (by the FL Panthers) in games 1-3 . He was the main reason Edmonton was almost swept.
Very skilled but makes too many bad decisions. When kept in check by coach, as in playoffs last year, he's great but too often he tries risky plays instead of just getting the puck to the next player safely
Bridge deal.
I think his terrible defense cost the oilers the cup last year. If he didn’t hand Rodriguez a free goal who knows they could have probably won that game and the cup. He’s great offensively but doesn’t seem to wanna pump the pistons on d. I think if they were to resign him. 5×6 maybe slight more.
Evan Bouchard and stu skinner I find similar they are like a deer in headlights because every time he is under pressure he fumbles the puck that turns into a goal… it reminds me of stu…. They look around after like oops that just happened…. I like Bouchards shot and his puck to offence passes, but he fumbles multiple times on pinching when it’s so important.. his turn overs are absolutely horrible…. Like skinners bad angle let ins these kind of things should not happen I used to dislike nurse now they are neck and neck for overplayed disliked players….trade skinner, nurse and Bouchard free up cap get a good goalie and above average player with growth if the team gets loaded with top salary players that aren’t consistent then you need to find younger players with growth so two player don’t carry the team alone…
Well known as Douch-ard in my friend group! Offensively talented player but the bonehead plays in the D zone and giveaways are momentum stoppers. As much as we love the Bouch bomb oil D line needs to tighten up
The Oilers management baffles me. They built a two man team, asked a backup goalie to start, have defensemen that can't play defense but collect insane salaries, and filled the gaps with run of the mill depth players and aging talent they could get for cheap. They have wasted McDavid's career, and he is likely going to sign again with them regardless of what happens and never win a cup. They should trade both him and Drai and wish them well, and build an actual team with said trades.
He’s lazy is the issue

I really like Evan. The eye-test does him no good sometimes, but his offensive numbers are making up for it easily. His skating is not the best and looks kind of clumsy at times and I think that's the reason some people are picking on him. His defensive numbers are alright if he is really in the zone.
Im hoping his next deal is less than Nurse's.
Bruce was an awesome Oilers fan, journalist, analyst, and historian. I'll really miss his calm demeanour and abundant knowledge. He was one of the few left who could say that he followed the Oilers from day 1 of the WHA 'till his recent passing.
I wish they would’ve traded him after the cup run, as a defenceman you shouldn’t be that lazy on..defense. but at this point kinda gotta sign him. 8×8 would be great but not hopeful.
With 6 years since his draft , if he's already declining , how could he be worth more than 6 MAYBE 7 Million as a DEFENCEman . 10+ millies sounds ridiculous . His offense can be seen close to a B+ , but definitely is a B rating but his defense is solid D grade , scraping dangerously close to an F+ d-man with the slop he lets happen consistently . Best offense is a great defence when you can actually keep a goal lead , let alone possibly blowing 3 goal leads . Let the O's O and the D's D and the G G . That's a team that can win a cup .
He's great offensively, not top of the league great, that is saved more for Makar and Hughes, but still respectable. He's god awful defensively though, which to me is a bad mix on an Edmonton Oilers team that has hot garbage for goalies. I think he would be more suitable on a team with a good goalie, then he wouldn't look as bad as he does.
I saw Jake chychrun against the Sabres this season. He is the most UNDERRATED defenseman in the NHL. The guy is a puck moving defender with great defensive upside and not a bad offensive side either. Definitely worth 9 million a year, but so is Bouchard. Bouchard can’t get paid more than 9. As far as Darnell nurse, guy has gotta go 😂😂😂. He’s horrible at 9 mil

Im not surprised people forget about bouchards playoffs last year, look at the liberals, Mark Carney is a disaster but because of Trump half the country has forgotten about the atrocious last 10 years of liberals. People and especially Canadians (Canadian Bias here) are friggen stupid.
