The NHL will never be the same…

Coming into last nights matchup between the Anaheim Ducks and the Minnesota Wild, the Wild found themselves just 1 point shy of clinching a playoff berth. Therefore, they obviously started their starter, Filip Gustavsson to get the job done. However, by the end of the night, it was Marc-Andre Fleury who was between the pipes giving us a vintage Fleury night in what was his final regular season action of his hall of fame career and could very likely be the final NHL ever as he has announced his retirement at the end of this season. After the Wild were down a goal with just seconds remaining the game, they were able to beat Dostal late to push the game to Overtime thereby securing the point they needed to make the NHL Playoffs where they will meet the Vegas Golden Knights. Doing so, also meant the final point up for grabs was not necessary and so Filip Gustavsson tagged Marc Andre Fleury into the game to finish things and the crowd erupted! A beautiful gesture to let the Flower have one more run at NHL action where he made the most of it! He put on a vintage Fleury show stopping all 5 shots and with the Wild winning it in OT, he also got his 71st OT win which is an NHL record and also recorded his 575th win in the NHL. A beautiful send of for one of the best to ever do it!

  1. Vintage pad stack poke check 😭😭😭😭 there's something in my eye!!!! I think its flower pollen!!! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

  2. While Fleury was playing in OT Gus probably went to the locker room and filled Fleury's dress shoes with vaseline and took the tires off his car.

  3. Damn getting older is a sad thing. So many great moment this guy gives us since his first ever season, those cups, those jokes, smiles. Hall of fame asap Fleury, what a carrer.

  4. I couldn't watch this without crying- I'm a pens fan. And im hoping we get a hockey miracle and get a caps vs. Wild cup final – ovie and flower for one last dance

  5. Marc-Andre deserves a long happy retirement and easily a spot in the HOF. What an absolute legend.

  6. Fleury is a true entertainer. He knows how to stop the puck, and give us a real show while doing so!

  7. Going to miss that Flower, classy. I so remember him and the Pens winning the Cup with my late wife. Him making a HUGE save in the dieing seconds, getting interviewed right after and he was GOLD in the interview. He was GREAT for Hockey and just a class guy. Nice move by Gus and the Wild also.

  8. VGK fan here, much ❤ to Flower. I reckon that Gus will be doing most of the heavy lifting against Vegas, but if we do see Flower minding the net, it will definitely be a great show. Still a lot of love for MAF in Vegas.

  9. What about the goalie that did all the work. Fleury is a dick for coming in just for the OT win. They try to make people think these people are special in some way. You play a game for a living and get paid far too much because people are stupid and pay a fortune for tickets.

  10. The "final" game a few days ago with his kids on the ice was a beautiful tribute but i felt it was lacking somehow and you could tell he was disappointed in his performance despite the win. This OT win tuesday night gave what was missing before. The happiness on his face while on ice and the joy in his play was what was lacking. He was excited and everyone else wanted this win for him more than anything else. Fleury was the reason i started watching hockey again. I became bored by it and it had been years since i had watched an entire game. My husband made me watch an episode of weird nhl and its feature was the pranks players pull on each other. I loved it and started searching for more of the same. I noticed that fleury was always in them and i decided to watch him play a game or two. It was during the second year in vegas and ive followed him ever since. I just loved to watch him play and his personality and the leagues love for him got me hooked.
I dont know what ill do now that hes retiring. I kind of didnt want him to but i get it. Its time. I hope he finds something truly fulfilling and comes back someday in some capacity in the nhl. I feel blessed to have had this time to watch him play.
