  1. His offseason commitment will be the difference.

Your Marchy example is a good reminder to keep some perspective.

  2. I'm really excited to see what he can do next fall. Hopefully he'll be a productive option so Pasta doesn't have to carry the offense again.

  3. Marchy, first year, similiar age like Fabian, had 20G 0+1 -3, Fabian 12G 1+2 -4, What does it mean? Nothing. The next year is more important, but Fabian was more and more selfconfident every game and every shift. His last A, the effort and the great move, nice. I can see the silver lining.

  4. Lysell just needs to consistently utilize the speed he showed in that last game of the season! There are many aging forwards and defenseman still in the league that he can outrace and create scoring chances. If he can create a few every game, he'll have no problem staying in the lineup no matter who the new coach is.

  5. His board work needs help, I watched him lose 3 puck battles in a row in one shift.
His puck management when he does not have room needs work.
So, frustrating but not uncommon for a 22yr old prospect.
His offense has improved as he has played in Boston, with showing at least one big skill chance per game.
You see he uses his speed and he has some vision with and without the puck.
    Its there.
His offseason will indeed be key. How will he approach it?
Will he TAKE a roster spot in camp and earn his playing time in Boston in October?
The next 6 months may very well determine his career.

  6. If you can get with l charro.Put on 15 to 20 poundon't.
Get stronger.I think it will make a big difference. We'll see what he does.In the off season if he's dedicated if he has The heart

  7. Lysell seems like his potential could be similar or higher then that of Jake Debrusk. I could see hiim as a 60 point scorer

  8. Once he knew he was going to stay until the end of the season he seemed to just play his game and he looked good. Big offseason for him. He needs to be a top 6 guy to be effective.

  9. the forecheck and steal on dillon and then set up the goal might be the most promising thing to see from him. i think he looks great. confidence is everything in everything. hope they have a good run down in AHL. i like your take on the draft during covid. i saw a similar take by an edmonton oiler video on why teams may have passed over on wyatt johnston. of course we hear that all the time.

  10. I played with Fabian when we were kids back in Gothenburg, Sweden. Guy is an absolute natural. Hockey was always his main thing, but he basically played every sport—tennis, football, golf—you name it. I think he had 2 hcp in golf when we were around ten years old. I believe every parent and coach that saw him then would have put money on him becoming an NHLer had they been able to. His dad used to drive him everywhere, several training sessions a day, from tournaments in one sport to another.

Obviously, we were kids, but I can say that he is a real impact player. I distinctly remember when our team was down by a couple of goals, Fabian not present (clearly). His dads car came screeching into the parking lot, coming directly from some other game. Fabian jumped out, tied his skates, came in for the final period. Game ended something like 11-3. He scored every goal.

He’s definitely at his best when he’s confident. Think that’s been the missing piece in the puzzle, and you can sense that he’s built some confidence over these last few games. Definitely has some aspects of the game to continue working on, and he would benefit from gaining a little more weight now that he’s in the big league—but I have no doubts that he’ll be very important for the Bruins over the coming years. Really exciting to see him finally get his shot.

  11. Lysell should definitely makes the Bruins next year. You could see him getting more and more comfortable with each game, he finally looked comfortable enough to not just exist out there, but to play his game. What his role will be is uncertain but I think the Bruins would be dumb to not give him an extended look to start the season.

  12. I'd like to see Boston dangle him for breakaways. We've done that a little with pasta and before that debrusk but we seemed to back off on that.

  13. I think people want to have closure on whether a pick is good or a bust too quick these days. He is still young, and it isn't like the Bruins have tons of prospects they can replace his spot in the system with. Hopefully he continues to develop, but if not, the team is in a rebuild anyway. Better to find out in the next year or two than later.

  14. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's time for the Bruins to start putting these kids to the test. Give them top line minutes, regardless of the projected ceiling. Stop limiting them to bottom lines roles. With experience and confidence they'll show what they're truly capable of. I'm excited to see Lysell, Poitras, Merk, Minten, Khusnutdinov, all these young players getting their chance to prove themselves in the top 6. Cheers

  15. Totally irrelevant ⭐ Skylar Brind'amour making his NHL debut tonight on Canes. Yep, Dad's coaching!

There's always something fun going on in our hockey community!

Just thought I'd throw it out there!

  16. If I had to guess, I think Minten, not Lysell, will break camp with the Bruins next fall

  17. I'm hoping Lysell shows up to camp hungry to stick with the big club. That said, if he develops the ability to evade hits in the manner Marner does as it's rare to see him get stood up, even better.
