The San Diego Gulls staged a dramatic comeback to defeat the Coachella Valley Firebirds 4-3 in overtime on Sunday night at Acrisure Arena. Despite falling behind 2-0 in the first period, the Gulls clawed back with two unanswered goals in the second from Jan Myšák and Yegor Sidorov to even the score. Coachella Valley briefly reclaimed the lead in the third on Oscar Fisker Mølgaard’s first AHL goal, but San Diego capitalized on a late power play, tying the game with just eight seconds remaining in regulation on a blast from Roland McKeown. In overtime, it was Nico Myatovic who sealed the victory, scoring at 2:52 to complete the Gulls’ comeback. Calle Clang made 27 saves in net for San Diego, while Ben Meyers paced the Firebirds with a goal and two assists. With the win, the Gulls added a thrilling chapter to their rivalry with Coachella Valley and showed plenty of resilience heading into the final stretch of the season.
