This team is worse then the deadwings back in the day. Steve Y has kill this team
nice bait video. the guy that wrote that article is some nerd who can't even skate and is completely unaware that our prospects are developing well.
this the article from the guy that said the Wings don't develop prospects well? yeah not a word to believe here. waste of a video.
Dude wings fans are pretty much in 2 distinct camps, realists that can be objective want yzerman gone for his obvious deficiencies.
The other camp still never admit yzermans farts don't stink.
He's horrible and got lucky with his pick of kucherov in tampa, his long term first round history is horrible with only seider raymond and v in tampa bringing significant contributions to their respective teams.
Plus the wings for years kill all skilled players confidence to play a wings 2 way style like the copps and comphers…enough is enough
Maybe this guy forgot to take his medication and senility is creeping in. He obviously doesn't know about the Griffins and their playoffs in the future which will feature some wings prospects that will be with the NHL team next year probably. A team does not need a superstar to make the playoffs. Neither Ottawa nor Montreal have a legitimate superstar at this point at the level of McDavid, Mackinnon, Draisatle. Remember the Golden Knights when they won the cup didn't have a player of that level on the roster. This guy obviously needs medication and a new job.
RED WINGS FARM TEAM IN GR IS RATED NUMBER ONE IN LEAGUE
Chicago Anaheim San Jose philly arizona/Utah Buffalo have all been bad for the last 5 plus years same as the wings. Teams don't get better quickly that's how it works with the cap and the lottery. It's that simple
To all complaining about Yzerman, how does anyone know how long a rebuild takes? Every team is rebuilding every offseason, other sports had teams that took over 80 years, but those teams had to rebuild after winning a championship.
Already hit their peak?? Lol!! Too funny. They have prospects that haven’t even played N. American hockey yet. The people saying these types of nonsense are people who don’t understand how a complete tear down and rebuild works. This coming off season is going to be big, and the addition of a few more young prospects is going to dramatically change the look of this team for next season.
How many cups McDavid won? Oh yeah zero….. Maybe teams with top heavy lines paying stupid money for 2 or 3 players are not the best at winning cups
Eh. The article criticizes drafting, which is kinda unfounded. As you said, sorry for not sucking so much, right? Free agency is a concern, but not even to the extent they make it out to be. We went and bought whatever slop was out there because we thought it'd take more time for some of our guys to develop. Outside the top ten of almost every draft class, it's hit or miss whether a player will truly develop into even a mid NHL player. It'd be nice if we had second or third rounders making more of a jump, but the jury is still out on them. Also, the Habs haven't clinched yet, so I'm going to laugh if they miss because the article put the cart before the horse here. Sorry, not sorry.
Red Wings under The ToddFather have a 0.588 win%
With the hardest remaining schedual!!! They had a 0.55 win% last year! Wtf are these writers getting paid for? Just garbage
The who wrote this is a hack.
Peaked? Absolutely not! Not even mentioning the obvious talents who didn't even play in the NHL, who's to say that a Seider or Raymond have peaked? We all saw how good Seider was with Edvinsson, imagine us not being destined to split those two apart.
As for Stevie Y, you can say the trust in him has taken a reasonable hit. Letting Ghost go for Gustafson was a total miss, Tarasenko was nowhere near the goalscorer we all wished he'd be. The defense rn has at least 2 players that play horrendously and get paid too much. On Goalies we got Talbot for a year and Mrazek.
I don't believe we will magically turn towards a cup contender, it'll stay hard even next year. But until then, the likelihood that our core will only grow is so high.
ASP, Wallinder or Buium could fill that defense, Johansson already is a Red Wing for me.
Cossa will only improve and make his first steps.
MBN and Danielson will both be a Plus on both sides of the ice.
Literally the only thing that we now need more than ever is to HIT Free Agency in the next 2 years and make more than panic trades, if possible. If that doesn't happen, then we can talk about someone taking Yzerman's place.
Bettman is to blame for the watered down league. Honestly hockey was fine with 16/24 teams. With 32 and more planned it’s a reality that teams people actually want to see can go years without playoffs
Detroit has been SCREWED by the lottery. That should be stacked by now.
They have a boatload of good prospects. Something can be said that Steve tried to force it out of the rebuild too early by signing vets who didnt live up to the contract. This isnt their peak by any measure. Raymond and Seider are the backbone of the team for the next 8 years. More prospects will make this roster, this isnt their top end.
While I agree that Yzerman hasn’t done the best in free agency, none of those guys except Compher are on the books after the next year or two…and there is still a ton of prospects to come up. ASP, Danielson, Cossa, MBN, and so on. Also…they would’ve made the playoffs this season if they hadn’t had such a TERRIBLE start. They missed the playoffs in October and November…not in March.
