TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joined SC with Jay Onrait to share his reaction to Ivan Demidov’s electric debut for the Canadiens on Monday night, and discussed how big of an opportunity was missed by failing to clinch a playoff berth against the lowly Blackhawks.

Terrible game for the habs tho come on lol
horrible. horrible decision to pull basically Demidov from the last powerplay, overtime and shootouts. this moronic and coward decision concluded the game against the habs.
I read here a couple of days ago so many comments that every single team from the Eastern Conference is afraid to play Canadiens in the playoffs 😅
Yeah … sure. You are not even still there but you already winning playoff games 😂😂😂
Nikita Kucherov was right back in 2021 …. delusional Habs fans
Yes! Amazing offensively, BUT, he is a big part of the reason for Chicago's tying goal. He just gave up skating.
bedsy killing himself after this
What about the Leafs? Why aren't you talking about the Leafs??? Haaaa
this guy is special
He was great, just needs to learn to backcheck
Didn't look so good on Hawks third goal
DemiLov.
Where goes DemiLov if Montreal Canadien does not make Series ?
He shot at an open net and for some reason Newhook decided to stop it with his stick. Demidov also set up at least really good scoring chances that were not converted. He could have had 4 or five points.

5th overall. Hope the top 4 is good cause Demidov is dynamite. Kaprysov+
Demidov Slafkovsky Suzuki 1st line
Caufield Laine Dvorak 2nd line
GO HABS GO
Craig Button that said the Habs were going nowhere on day one
Find him a real center for next year!!!
You can just see when a player is different from the others, doesn't take 3+ season to be sure of it.
He was a distraction to his own teammates who were up 2-0 and then let the Hawks score 3 unanswered goals.
he is better than McDavid
Bitter sweet
now if they only had a real coach
Montréal got all crazy for all the wrong reasons. You all act like teenage girls of years past. Dressing up Demidov was an extremely bad decision. It was obviously not well received by the guys on the ice, the players, the guys who brought the team this far. Yes Demidov is a good player, might be very good in the years to come, but he will NEVER, EVER be bigger than the team. This was not Demidov's doing obviously, it's management. They sacrificed the team for the hype. Very disappointing. This might hurt Demidov too. Didn't anyone notice Demidov's play on Chicago's 3rd goal ? He still has a LOT to learn, like Caufield did. Focus should be on making the playoffs, not the hype. I just don't get how Demidov was dressed for a do or die game. It makes no sense.
He looks incredible. Hopefully there arent many lazy backchecks like the one that caused a goal yesterday but if hes as good as advertised im not too concerned about it
Guhle is overrated! Always injured, always taking stupid penalties, poor decisions! I don’t get the hype behind him
Demi-God
I love St. Louis but he coached a very bad game last night. 1-) His trios were bad: Newhook can stake but nothing else. Where Demidov is a fast intelligent player that can feed a natural scorer which Newhook is FAR from being and could not feed Demidov in return.2) Laine is a terrible player, he got way to much ice time for a game that matters so much, 3-)and Demidov could have played the power plays in the third periods instead. 4-) He did not make any changes during the game.5-) Slaw is on vacation? He has been terrible for the last two games. He could have tried Damidov and branch Slaw for one or two rounds. Damidov is an excellent player very impressive.6-)Laine in second for the shootout? Suzuki, second then Demidov.7-) the shootout goal was technically not good, since was declared no goal
Craig Button… same whiner who said not to play him!!!
He was unreal! Could've had a 4 points night if Newhook could finish
Do Harvey's deliver to Ireland?
Arber Xhekaj has to be in the lineup. The chemistry of the team changes.
He was the best player on the ice
Back check first …. Then pay check…. Floater
kuzmenko version 2
Impressive debut for Ivan Demidov with a goal and assist.
