GRAB SOME ICE GIVEAWAY: https://www.slcpuck.com/p/giveaway-grab-some-ice
The Utah Hockey Club made its inaugural season home finale a celebratory occasion, even with an overtime shootout loss to the Nashville Predators. After the game ended, the team awarded End of Year Honors to select players, including goaltender Karel Vejmelka, who was voted by his teammates as the team’s Most Valuable Player.
SLC Puck host Austin Facer commends the Club for making the right call and naming “Veggie” the MVP. It’s also been interesting to note that many players on this team have had career years, such as “All-In” Award winner Barrett Hayton. That, along with a feeling of gratitude for the team’s new market, gives Facer optimism for Utah’s future.
Utah continued to wrap up its season with a 50% off sale at the team store over the weekend. In addition to being an act of appreciation for the team’s fanbase, Facer also views it as a signal that a new name and look may be on the way, very soon.
SLC Puck! is a twice-weekly podcast on Utah’s hockey scene hosted by local hockey expert Austin Facer. You can subscribe to SLC Puck’s YouTube channel here. Facer also co-hosts the NashCast, the Utah Hockey Club’s alt-cast starring NHL funnyman Tyson Nash, available exclusively on SEG+ or Utah HC+.

I saw you at the Utah hockey club yard sale, you almost interviewed us, if you check your footage you will see me
Jaxson Stauber is under contract with the Utah Hockey Club for the 2024-25 season. He signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 on July 5, 2024. However, since today is April 13, 2025, and his contract expires at the end of the 2024-25 NHL season (typically concluding in April or May, depending on playoffs), it’s likely that his contract has either recently ended or is very close to ending.
Any news on the arena renovations? When do they start that?
Awesome job… Can't wait for 100… Certainly loving, what you are putting down… Keep up the good work…
