Trading him or signing him LONG TERM arent the only answers here, you can sign him to a 3 year bridge deal which would take him to age 27 when he can become UFA.
UPL plays better when he has competition pushing him.

The 13 game losing steak, they had 3 OT losses, so 3 out of a possible 26 points. I know, woulda, coulda, shoulda, but if they had just played .500 hockey during that stretch and got 13 out of 26 points they would actually be in the Wild Card 2 slot right now.

If Adams wants to sign Mitch Marner at $13.5M AAV, Byram would likely have to go unless he would agree to a bridge deal at $4.62M. I have to think GMKA has something seismic planned if he can make it happen to keep his job beyond the early 2025-26 season.
