so basically Laine is giving a rational answer. the truth is Demidov is human, not a god, why should he praise him to the moon when he hasn't played even one game in the nhl, let's wait and see before swooning over a player.

The Art of creating drama for a couple of clicks… The downgrade of this channel since a couple of years is really sad.
It's not that he's not excited, rather that he doesn't know him, he said it himself, clearly (that he doesn't watch hockey nor goes onto social media after games, bringing some equilibrium into his life with other stuff). He was just honest about this, so please, don't try to create some buzz around a fabricated confrontation between players, it's utterly silly tabarnak.
Laine just isn't gonna put any pressure on the kid, it's not his place and he would know about dealing with pressure being the young part of a team with insane expectations but trust me, Laine is definitely excited to finally get a linemate that will give him the damn puck.

to be clear: SKA arena ice surface is 60m x 26m. Bell Centre ice surface is 61m x 26m, so yeah that whole thing about Demidov having to adjust to a smaller ice surface is sort of rubbish.
This is so misleading. Laine was asked what he knew about Demidov. He answered the question, "Not much, just that he's a Russian and is a lefty." It was not derogatory in any way!
