Congrats to Atro and also Oilers. Atro is a smooth skater with a good eye for the game. Last season was his first in Liiga and he was not so strong defensively.
Apart from his points scoring he have for sure become better defending through this season. So he have for sure developed. He is not like Puljujärvi. His pair in Vaasan Sport was not a very strong partner. Vaasan Sport barely managed to get to the playoffs this season, so not much help from his team mates getting most points in Liiga this year.
Scooring most points ever by a defenceman in 2024-2025 season in hockey is for sure an achievement since defence is in high focus in Liiga. His also a guy with both geet on the ground and that does not hurt either. He was working the summers in a sawmill and in a car workshop so if hockey does not go well he can be a lumberjack or repair cars in Edmonton😊
Atro played +25 minutes each game through all season. A more reasonable time on ice and better team mates will help him succeed in NHL.
Joel Kiviranta also rose undrafted from Vaasan Sport. I suspect Atro will do even better. If you need a hat tick guy in the play-offs this year still, I would concider bringing him over.
The top scoring player nvm Dman in the Finnish league. He is an offensive dynamo who has incredible analytics. His defensive play is also very good despite what you are hearing here 😡
