Does anyone else find it strange that no one wants to come play for the Carolina Hurricanes?
Power play is and has been garage. Who coaches it? ( did not address )

I am a long-time Canes fan. THIS SEASON is going to be the same old rerun for the past 5 years.

So we'll be the second round exit Canes for the next 3 years! Great moves
As much as it sucks to lose a superstar Mikko clearly didn't fit into the Canes system. However I feel as if this situation is bittersweet. Knowing the Canes are eliminated R2 this year sucks but also next season this team is gonna look really good as they have the cap space to make this next Free Agency really good and address all of our needs. Also I love the addition of Logan Stankoven. His speed, defensive responsibility, forechecking, playmaking, and can score goals at times. He can do everything much like Jarvis. Then two first round picks to make this already good prospect pool and bring it to the next level with 2 third and first round picks. I know it sucks to look this far but in 2029 this team will be terrifying. All of these draft picks and prospects are most likely gonna be in the NHL helping this team. As of now our future core forwards look like this. Svechnikov, Jarvis, Kotkaniemi, Stankoven, Blake, Nadeau, Artamanov, FUS, and Suzuki is I'd go as far as elite for the fact this team hasn't been able to draft big names rather draft steals and hidden talent. As for the future d-core it is good but also questionable. Alexander Nikishin defensive d-man turned two way to make an extremely elite d-man, Scott Morrow, two way d-man however offensive oriented, Dominik Badinka is an interesting one, he is classified as a two way mobile d-man, however he is mostly a defensive d-man with the speed and mobility you would expect from an offensive d-man so he is just like Chatfield, and then Aleksi Heimosalmi if he ever makes the NHL could be a bright spot to go with those guys in the future. So looking good.
Makes sense that Rants wanted to go to Dallas, his agent is the same as Harley, Wyatt Johnson, not to mention the Fins on the Stars team and they have a great chance at the run for the Cup.
Canes made the mistake trading for Rants without a guarantee deal initially (what was the GM thinking?).
Stank has great hockey smarts, great work ethic and full of passion and heart! So sorry to see him traded from Stars! 💔 Hope the Canes show him the love he deserves!
Adios to Rants; regardless of where he went after the surprise trade from the Av's he was bound to be unhappy. Claiming now that it was not the money it was the city and originally he stated or his camp leaked out that he hated big cities etc… hindsight is twenty twenty but it really to me came down to taxes. JG went to Tampa for the same reason. Av's fans should be more pissed than Canes fans if you a diehard Rants fan b/c he accept less than what both clubs offered him to stay.

Not a terrible haul considering Necas & Rants both wanted to go and now we have money to spend and pick up free agents or trade for guys that will fit Rod's system and the Canes culture. Alexander Nikishin contract is up in May and is headed our way next season but we will cap space to sign him and he would potentially be the Orlov replacement who is slatted to be a UFA at the end of the season and unlikely to be resigned. S. Morrow is another prospect that we can insert into our defense in season to replace the aging Burns who sadly has had father time catch up to him this year (it happens to everyone).
Stankoven fits the mold and T. Hall wants to stay as well which is awesome but the same problems remain. Another netminder to pair with PK after this season and #2 Center RH could Stankoven but that guy ??? We will see might be asking alot though on a younger guy.
With the extra picks above we can go out and trade for whomever or we can just keep the picks and draft who we want.
Make no mistake though E. Tulsky learned a valuable lesson he swung for the fences and missed its ok but it is a lesson learned and we lost the Rants deal sad but true.
