In fact, they DON'T look "strong"…they've looked extremely TIRED and have been extremely LUCKY at times being DOMINATED. (23 shots AGAINST in a SINGLE PERIOD!????). Yeah no….they don't look "strong".
Savard is washed up and now affecting xhekaj s development. He’s a shot blocker that is it doesn’t hit does Tt play big can’t skate
everyone forgets about Kirby Dach
0% chance Dvo comes back next year
I can not see Dvorak being in Montreal. If he is, it will be at $2 max. Like that happens. Expensive face- off option.
The Habs must realize these veterans got them to a second wild card spot. There are not three rounds into the playoffs.
Isn't there a possibility that 3 or even 4 of these developing players being gone with some of Hughes' moves?
All aboard the hype train!
It has been a very good year. I think you have to let Dvorak try to find a job. I don't know how many suitors are out there for that limited skill set.
It's not all great we got VERY lucky to get Hutson and that alone proves that scouts are NOT what they claim to be internet nobodies can do as good a job.
We SHOULD have got Mitchkov he was obviously more likely to come over than Demidov whom Ska tried very hard to keep him over there.Mitchkov came over easily we still do not know how Demidov was released MTL may have paid money to make it happen.
Then we have the coach MSL where does he play Demidov?Everyone right now is acting liek Demidov is another star like Hutson so he then belongs on the first line or at least the remainder of the regular season to give him a CHANCE.So until this happens we might see MSL fail the team put Demidov where he is less likely to be t his best. This also means someone sits out and we already have a D man sitting out so now another forward and it seems likely Pezetta.Mike is no good to anyone sitting on the bench so why not clear waivers get him to laval and if we lose him so what he was going to sit on the bench anyhow.
How soon after losing Dvo would we be looking for a guy just like him. In Kent I trust. I also don't want dvo gone for the sake of the boys
The Habs have been in a teaching and evaluation mode since the rebuild started. So Intelligent.
Too many people are thinking with thier hearts. If I could I would try to get something for Armira , Dvorak and Savard now that thier value is higher.
Suzuki, Caufield Ghule Matheson, Gallagher Anderson Laine are veterans.
Ivan playing against the leafs on saturday night?
Roy, RHP Ferrell all should be traded
I don't agree with the luck factor of not being in the Western Conference. To me, it just solidifies that the Eastern conference is a stronger conference and thus a harder conference to qualify for the playoffs. The west there are about five teams that the rest of the conference can pound on and beat multiple times per season, thus increasing their point total and thus increasing the difference in points between the bottom feeders and the ones who qualify.
In the east it's much tighter because the teams are much more competitive. Top teams are in the West though.
I watch every game of thr Habs, the only place I hear of Armia's wrist injury is here…love this show for the insights i don't get from TSN and Sportsnet broadcasts.
Galley and Anderson are essential for leadership and driving this team as good as first line in importance. Dvorak may leave but if contract is team friendly, he's a good 3c. But fact is the kids coming up will dictate who stays and goes, by their improvement in play.
Shaun da Star?
Just gimme the score!!!!
If they get a 2C they need spots for Newhook AND Dach unless bodies are moving out this summer. Unless they end the Laine experiment for some reason.
Next season The 3rd line should be 77-15-17
Frig da leafs.
I couldn't care less about speculating what happens after this Habs team goes deep into the playoffs, if not all the way.
I trust Kent Hughes knows more about what he's looking for, and how he's going to achieve his goals, then even the best writers.
Hopefully habs win tonight and lock up that playoff spot officially. Then give guys like Armia and Savard rest. Would also allow Marty to experiment with the 2nd line a bit, see who Demidov works well with. I could see him making newhook look all of a sudden like a legit 2C. Hopefully Laine gets a big boost as well, or else he'll get pushed down the line up come playoffs. Kapanen is showing potential.
Caufield will get to 40 goals, Suzy 30, and over 90 points.
GHG!
It's very sobering that we call David Savard old, when he's younger than me…. lol
Only way I would resign dvorak is if they traded dach/newhook.
Remember the last time the Habs made it to the SC finals they had a defence called the hamburger machine. The opposition feared being turned into hamburger every time they entered Montreal's zone.
Montreal managed timely goal scoring.
Montreal had close to perfect penalty killing.
The biggest advantage Montreal had is they scored first and constantly were ahead of the opposition most of the time.
This team is different….they are the come-back kids.
Going into these playoffs they CANNOT have Monty go into one of his cold streaks as he did several times this year.
I don't worry about next year until I see this year's playoffs
Tough to compare point totals between the east to the west. The western conference gets to feast on the 3 worst teams.
Kinda weird talking playoffs with a set of golf clubs in the background! Dont jinx MTL Shaun 😂
Is it possible to expect Carey Price next year???? Can you IMAGINE AAAAAGGGGHHHH
You’re missing one important thing: 12 points in 13 games. Health!
You're right about letting them spend a little bit more time in Laval. A little bit more seasoning is never a bad thing and let's not forget that this year in Laval has been a winning one right from the start. Playoff experience in the lower echelons is a plus heading into the NHL.
I predict Evans will replace Dvorak at the center of the 3rd line. Depending how Demidov works Newhook, I think the Habs will go get that 2nd center. Dach and Newhook both could possible be traded. I dont see them long term with the team.
