It's not over, keep teaching the young guys how to play to the last game; huge step up for them this year in particular, in due part to stellar leadership from Larkin and sound verteran presence making sure our rooks were fed the puck and put in the best positions to make plays. The kids carried the team to this point, they can still do it, but if not, this offseason with McClellan should kick their asses enough to get them in shape for 60 minutes next year.

Coach Todd was careful with his words but it's obvious he has a few players targeted for a move. It's all up to Saint Yzerman now. It was obvious last year that Lalonde was not the guy and maybe Ilitch wouldn't let Yzerman pull the plug. Who

This team is soft. They have maybe 5 guys that can win board battles, nobody can skate the puck out and they don't make passes to exit the zone. They don't skate hard and nobody goes to the hard areas. They're easily knocked off the puck and taken out of the play. The only reason this team isn't bottom 4 in the league is the two 7 game winning streaks that came from the new coach bump. As soon as they were asked to start playing the man to man system they all went to shit! I'm not sure that this group can play in the man style of defense that Lalonde and McClellan run. I don't know if zone defense is the answer either because this team is just bad

1 easy fix… get more Canadian players on this roster! Legendary Canadian player runnin the team and he fills roster with anything but Canadians. Top teams in the league have more than two Canadians. Guaranteed.
