The Canadiens’ Brendan Gallagher looks like he could hit the 20-goal mark for the first time since the 2019-20 season. The 32-year-old veteran has played a key role in the Canadiens competing for a playoff spot this season.
In this Hockey Inside/Out bonus episode, former NHLer Nate Thompson, who was Gallagher’s teammate for two seasons with the Canadiens, joins The Gazette’s Stu Cowan and former Canadiens defenceman and 1986 Stanley Cup champion Rick Green to discuss what has impressed them the most about Gallagher’s play this season.

Great show
Gallygibez
Galley gibbs
I remember last year, commentators were saying that Gallagher was a finished player. Did he show them! Good job Gallagher, much respect!
No one in the NHL has taken more physical abuse that went unpenalized. Always open season on Gally. And he never stops. Heart and soul Hab…
Heart and soul Gally. Love that player!
Love BG but he is a bit of a hack. At the same time a good catalyst for the team. No surprise for the injuries because of the way he plays.
Laine said he hated him for 8 years playing against him. But he just loves playing on the team with him now.
Shows what anyone can do when you have heart, Rally is the pure example of it.
The only thing that can match Gallagher's machine like endurance physically, is his mental endurance. Rest in peace Momma Gallagher, she gifted us the most tremendous sportsman and example for young hockey fans.
Gally will not be traded at next year's deadline and may get an extension earlier than next Summer at a reduced AAV.
Gally will retire a Hab. Team wouldn't trade him unless he wanted to go. And he would have did that at the start of the rebuild. Not as the team is becoming competitive. I hope he signs a team friendly deal to end his career hopefully after winning a Cup with this younger group. Teams need that veteran leadership Gally provides.
Gallagher has the added challenge of being the refs' whipping boy. He has to play with greater restrictions than any other player in the league. He has to skate on egg shells and he still manages to do well. Let's face it, in the last game vs Boston, Bruins player gets away with lying on Monty in the crease while his teammate puts the puck into the empty net and it counts. If that's Gally, 100% no goal. He's got a target on his back and a noose around his neck and he still plays his game.
Most people would say Galley is the HEART of the Habs ,,but I say he is THE GUTS of this team ,,no quit/no pain he wont play through/ no opponent too big ,,,just GUTS !
Hope he stays retires as a Hab like Carey. Can't picture him in another jersey.
