These teams should DEFINITELY offer sheet Matthew Knies

Matthew Knies is having a breakout year for the Toronto Maple Leafs and could be a prime target for an offer sheet over the offseason, especially if the Leafs are committed to re-signing Mitch Marner. There are plenty of teams that could be in the market for Knies (especially after the St. Louis Blues’ offer sheet success with Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg) so we highlight a few that would make the most sense — including the Utah Hockey Club, Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins.

  1. I think a wing from Toronto will end up in Anaheim. Knies via offer sheet, Tavares or Marner via free agency. A team that is showing progress and has lots of cap space and a need for more scoring wingers should try to snatch one of these guys up.

  2. I can't believe a team would not offer sheet Knies for 9 for 5 years to which he would sign. If he is sure the Leafs want him then he gets stays with the Leafs and gets a larger raise than he normally would. Teams would want to keep it at the level where the draft returns are a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd.

  3. Knies will not go the offer sheet route, period! A top 3 POWER forward in the league, the Leafs need to re-sign. Matthew wants to play in Toronto, end of story! Tre, GET-R-DONE.
