Recap: San Diego Gulls vs Bakersfield Condors, 4.11

The San Diego Gulls were shut out in a tough 5-0 road loss to the Bakersfield Condors on Friday night at Mechanics Bank Arena. Bakersfield struck early and often, with Kyle Mayhew opening the scoring midway through the first period, followed by a late tally from James Hamblin to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission. The Condors kept the pressure on in the second, as Josh Prokop and Daniel D’Amato each lit the lamp, extending the lead to 4-0. San Diego goaltender Oscar Dansk was replaced by Calle Clang after the fourth goal. Despite a 17-shot push in the third period, the Gulls couldn’t solve Bakersfield netminder Collin Delia, who stopped all 28 shots for a perfect performance. Hamblin added an empty-net goal late in the third to seal the victory and finish with a four-point night (2G, 2A). The Gulls will look to regroup and finish the season on a high note after dropping their third straight contest.
