The Vancouver Canucks just gave Elias Pettersson an ultimatum

Is this Patrik Allvin’s last stand with Elias Pettersson?

Recent comments from the Vancouver Canucks general manager suggest that he wants his franchise player to stay in Vancouver to train.

It’s an odd request for a player of Pettersson’s calibre, but you can see the Canucks’ logic.

If Pettersson doesn’t oblige, is a trade inevitable?

Beggsy touches on that, along with reports on the Canucks contract offer to Brock Boeser, D-Petey’s brilliance and more on the latest episode of Locked On Canucks.

  1. We need to sign him i meen look now the team is starting to show great vibes i think we should sign him and next year he will prove himself

  2. I like Drew O’Connor and Marcus Petterson. I think if you give them some more time, they’ll evolve into something much better (even though I think they’re pretty good overall right now).

  3. Elias Petey an ultimatum? Is it show up or else we will have no choice but to pay you 11.6 mill a year? 😂 hahah. Smells like a rebuild, who wants to buy out that contract or take it off the Canucks hands?… 🤪 “cAnUcKs aRE g0oD 🤪” or “wE dOnT nEeD PlAyOfFs 🤪”

  4. Sorry, Brock is not worth $8 million a year and I doubt he will get that for any term from anybody else. As for EP40, something is not right with that guy, but we are going to have to live with him as who would want him at his current production? NHL needs to change the agreement with the players to be able to walk away from contracts like the NFL does. It simply is not fair for the fan base to suffer for years because a player(s) does not live up to his half of the agreement. I joked with a guy the other day that the solution to this is to waive a under-performing superstar in order to send him the the Eastern Hockey League.

  5. So management again KNEW OF THIS… CIRCUS CLOWNS… 🤡🤡🤡 then reports all start to come out when the season is over… awesome media…

  6. It's crazy to think that at one point the 649 "Lotto Line" was one of the best lines in the league… 1 year later… they all may end up playing on different teams

  7. What’s the definition of insanity again? Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. That feels like the situation with his player. He’s a super talented athlete but he needs a fresh start on another team. It sucks But he will always be under scrutiny in the city, and will never be the player we all wanted to be.

  8. i heard his no trade clause comes in next year so please trade the slug ,he is a boy in a mans body , who would want him? and what would they pay.

  9. Boeser will get around 50 points this season. And he wants 8 mil? I think you can get a replacement in FA for a 50 point player. LOL. And probably for less than $8 mil.

  10. Management should not have prematurely offered a contract last year before the season or playoffs ended to Petterson, even he said he wanted to concentrate on hockey. He was a total non-factor in the playoffs

  11. what I don't comprehend is how Petey was absolutely a non factor in game after game and even when Miller was shipped out how many games did Petey not even have a shot on goal! This guy at 26 years old dropped off a cliff as soon as he signed for big money so to me he can't be trusted to produce anymore.Great player but these big money guys perform year in year out and Petey can't do it.Sorry but he needs to be traded-and get a new start somewhere else.Complete wash-out really.

  12. 0:27 The current EP40 contract has a ridiculous US$11.6 million per-season cap hit. I believe that cap hit is why he hasn’t been motivated to perform, and fault for that falls on management having offered that contract in the first place.

  13. He's a great player and he will come back strong. He's fine people needs to shut up and let him get through this

  14. Why would any player want to play with the absolutely toxic media coverage in Vancouver. I have been a fan of Canucks since their inception. Always will be but our media needs to keep their mouth shut. Nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all.

  15. Canucks Ultimatum was: "if you want to smoke pot and game all summer like you did last year, we'll make sure you're gone by July 1….if you want to train all summer like a mature professional athlete who is worthy of 93 million, you're welcome to stay"
