  1. With a tendonitis rehab summer hopefully Pettersson can bounce back and find his form again that he was just starting to grasp before another injury. This season has been a rough go for the Canucks, without any Miller drama and maybe another top winger added in the offseason, they should be set to do better in 25/26.

  2. Biggest reason IMO is Tocchet kept playing EP net front constantly on PP. Never had shot chances.

    High slot is his spot.

  3. The biggest problem is he slumped and didn’t have anybody to pull him out of it. Then this season he didn’t train good enough in the off season and didn’t get up to speed until later in the season

  4. This is why Ovechkin is the best goal scorcer of all time as he's always had tendencies that would get figured out, but he's always been able to change and adapt his game. This season Ovi doesn't rely on his one timer on the PP nearly as much and has instead scored more goals firing wrist shots through traffic and over the years as he's gotten slower he has really become one of the most underrated tippers in the game

  5. Ovi has over 40 goals this season while pushing age 40… he's able to do this because he has continued to evolve his game over the years as teams have tried to adjust to his style. Big congrats to Ovi for breaking the goal record yesterday on a vintage Ovi goal from the top of the circle!

  6. Petey is not going to bounce back 🙂 he has that 12 million dollar bag baby!… what a guy 🙂 … smells like a rebuild ❤

  7. Rob… love the videos but JT Miller has 20 more shots on goal than Pettersson in 2 more games. So let’s say on pace for 20 more shots across a full 82 game schedule. That’s not a significant difference whatsoever.

Acting like Miller is some team-leader saint who does no wrong seems off to me as well. He quit playing aggressively on defence this year for the Canucks. Petey always plays hard defensively even with his bum knee.

What if you talked about the injury he admitted he has in his end of year interview, compare it to other athletes who have had it, and cut those other two parts of the video, for future videos. It would be more informative and less drama-filler.

  8. Petterson was never good. Just one of the most overrated players in the league for his whole career. Just like Slafkovsky

  9. Of course miller won’t score on the ice, he’s from MN…they/them only score where they should t🤮

  10. Predictability equal, Stopping one-timers from the right circle is easier on a traditional goalie than ones from the left (glove is able to cover more net, especially high near post, than a blocker is). For sure the confidence to blast pucks from Ovi makes a difference but inability to simply hammer pucks in will affect Petersson over his career. Note where Draisaitl is shooting his one-timers from in comparison

  11. Tocchet left 10-15 points on the table this season at key moments by mis-coaching to prove juvenile high-school coaching points (restricting first line time and offensive zone starts mainly). It is almost unforgiveable. Plus, the whole 're-wiring thing'. Since when is an East-West style like a mix of Nylander and Peter Forsberg not good enough for NHL? Bonehead. Bonehead. Bonehead.

  12. Pettersson fell off after the all star break last year and he just got worse this year. Problem isn’t tendinitis it’s between the ears. Doubt he’ll ever be worth the $11.6 M. He’s too soft and too easy to defend against. I’d trade him.

  13. Jesus this is sub par analysis. Glazing to the Nth degree of JT Miller – a player that does not have the qualities that someone like Elias Pettersson have – and talking about "fall off" and "distraction", implicitly and explicitly saying he is sucking.

  14. Pettersson is the most overpayed, barley NHL quality, player that has also never done anything superstar like. He had some luck. Its over. He cant skate. He cant skate while stick handling cuz his skates turn into skis. He knows it. He knows that fans and media dont know it. Thats why he is the way he is in interviews. The guy signed a huge contract cuz they put it in front of him. Couldnt sign it fast enough. Not his fault that he is just an average to below average NHL player who had all his luck used up already.

  15. He’s skinny as shit and gets hurt every time he gets hit. That’s his problem. When he IS healthy, he’s just a tier under MacKinnon, McDavid, & Draisaitl. On the same level as Tkachuk & Barkov. He’s that good when he’s actually healthy and playing. But that’s a big “when”.
