Seems like he needs a couple of handfuls of chill pills.
I wonder if JT would have stepped aside earlier if EP wasn't struggling at the time and now that 40's found himself he feels comfortable enough dealing with this or maybe it's just circumstantial in the end.
The Raty shade is sickening
There’s something really off about the Canucks this year. I’m not sure what it is, but something isn’t right.
With JT not playing in the preseason and having a less than stellar beginning to the season it seems as though he has been dealing with something for some time now. This will give the mgmt. an opportunity to see if EP can carry the team or becomes an option to restructure the team.
High stress people will acquire anxiety, and I would not doubt he is having trouble dealing with it.
this only takes a second to explain. Pettersson floats for 6 months, never gets benched. Miller has a bad game, gets benched. Miller tells Tocchet to eff off and that he's a punk ass b*tch that does the management's bidding. Miller takes leave. This team is constantly surrounded by weirdness.
Laine took leave for mental reasons
Get your butt back to work , you signed a contract now honour it. I wonder if Sportsnet will allow me to not pay the bill aswell…. we had a contract but apparently it doesnt matter
Hope all is well with JT and his beautiful family. Thousands of canuck family is with you
Miller's wife is having an affair with Bedards mom 😆
Same thing happened with Newcastle last year, Trippier went from best in the league at right back to total liability, turned out soon after his wife had caught him cheating, not for the first time. His head completely went.
Jt Miller has not been the same player after that game against Calgary flames. Fight in that lost 6-5 ..
Hmm
has nothing to do with family, he’s just a big baby who can’t control his emotions
The secretive NHL. This is the problem with hockey, hear no evil, see no evil. Don't say anything and the media like you Patrick go along with it instead of doing your job and reporting what is really going on.. And what happens? Junior sex scandals, NHL abuse scandals etc., etc. Time to open up NHL and media. Seems the NHL and Catholic church operate from the same play book. Sad.
Hope JT is okay and back better then ever. Nothing but support for him but it does suck having him out. Currently we are missing 3 of our 5 best players.
I thought a lot of players steped up and had hood games. Debrusk needs to step up. Lekkerimäki looks like he needs to go back down, it seems like the best thing for his developmen.
Boeser should be back for next week for the 1st or 2nd game. That will help.
Debrusk Petterson Boeser
Joshua Suiter Garland
Heinen Blueger Sherwood
Bains Raty Hoglander
Demko is getting close to a return. Regardless goaltending wise we should be in better shape. Lankinen will be rested and Siloves is in better form.
I just did a double take on “context” in the dictionary
JT has been a fantastic player for the Canucks for quit some time and has earned time off to get right in my opinion.
i don't think him and Petey like one another as Miller sees him as a "soft" european player who just does'nt play the game the way a hard nosed North American does.Petey has not been playing anything close to his game since he extended his contract. One has to go and I would take a boat load of Millers over a canoe full of Peteys
What the hell. Did EP40 take time off when he was struggling? No he played through all that shitty ahitty noise. This guy is paid a lot of $$$$ to play and taking time off is the off season. Jeeze man. Give me a break
He provides context on why players might leave.
The more I hear about this , the more concerned I am. Players have all sorts of pressures, and one never knows how personal life, injuries, or god forbid – concussion issues- can affect their play and behavior. Consider the last two season where one year Miller lived under a black cloud when the team wasn’t winning, and let his frustration affect his play and behaviour AND THEN the following year he has early success and just blossoms into everything the team could have hoped . This could very well be a mental health problem. Being the captain may have only amplified the problem for him.
I think miller will return shortly after this upcoming canucks road trip
CLOSE FRIEND OF NATALIE MILLER SAID SHE HAS A CERTAIN TYPE OF STAGE 3 CANCER THATS ALL SHE SAID. HIS LEAVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM BUT HIS WIFE’S HEALTH. ELLIOT FRIENDMAN THE ‘KNOW IT ALL ‘’ GOSIP KING CONFIRMED THE LEAVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM , BUT HIS WIFES HEALTH.
at least he didn't pull a Corey Perry on us. I admit I thought it was a alcohol problem when this news 1st dropped, knowing how hockey players role. I do hope he works it out at his own pace but we do need him back badly. Don't even sweat it Millsy, we'll be chanting your name when you return 100%
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
He’ll be back in about a week from what I’ve heard
"Hey everyone, let’s clear up the speculation. The Canucks have been pretty transparent about why JT Miller has stepped away. Miller is an intense and competitive player who holds himself and his teammates to extremely high standards. He’s frustrated with his own performance and feels others in the locker room need to step up, which can make him a tough teammate at times. After being benched in the 3rd period, it likely hit him hard, especially if he feels he's already giving 110%. This probably created tension in the locker room, with someone suggesting his over-competitiveness was affecting him personally. It seems clear Miller is stepping back to work on balancing his competitive drive and personal well-being before returning."
