Is Marcus Pettersson the answer to the Canucks’ defensive issues?

As part of the Vancouver Canucks’ trades this week, they acquired defenseman Marcus Pettersson from the Pittsburgh Penguins. But what can Pettersson offer that could help to fix Vancouver’s fledgling blue line?

  1. I have a feeling that 3PETEY will be a blessing on the blue line. Hes a definite upgrade over most of vancouver's d-core, and as long as the forward group can pick it back up and perform like we know they can, they should have zero issue making the playoffs this year and have a good run at it. Time will tell obviously, but i'm liking what the moves have been since JT Miller's departure (as much as it stings we couldnt keep everyone and be happy with it)

  2. On paper, he's exactly what they need. A steady, responsible, stay at home defenseman who can play big minutes. Now they have 3 genuine top 4 defensemen. I don't think he makes them a bona fide cup contender, but he's definitely something they were seriously lacking.

  3. Canucks d core is really not that bad anymore or shouldn’t be Hughes Hronek 3Petey is an awesome trio, I think they could use one more mobile depth puck mover but it can’t be understated how crucial this addition is

  4. I don't care if you had every analysis right. If you knew everything. And were 1000% (I added a zero) accurate on everything you said.
I ain't listening to anyone with a British accent say shit about hockey. 5 seconds into the video (took me 3 seconds to get back to my laptop) and the vid was over.
You wanna talk about Cricket, Footy, Looting other Nations, or how to drink warm beer, that's fine…

But I can't do the hockey.

I suppose it's tolerable on mute. If you're into blonds.

  5. Canucks are top heavy on D. 7.85M/7.25M, 3.25M/3M, 1.5M/0.75M.

3-Petey's 4M means Canucks can finally stop playing the league minimum player in Noah Juulsen.

  6. I'm pretty happy with the M-Petey acquisition, It's been obvious that they need help on the back end since Cole and Zadorov left, He's not very heavy and can't protect the front of the net the way that Zadorov and Cole could last year but even still he at least partially negates the decline on defense that the team has seen this year. I hope he's kept on a pair with Hronek just because Hughes seems good enough to carry basically anyone he plays with. Hopefully D-Petey continues to solidify the third pair.

  7. He's definitely the answer to their not having enough Swedes with the same last name problem they've had since the Sedin twins retired.

  8. I think (hope) Willander will be a stud and will play immediately when available. He is such a great skater.

  9. Looking like he has been the answer for the D all along. Him and D Petey Jr

Always love an out of market perspective on the Canucks. You've got a sub from me!

  10. He kind of reminds me of Hamuis without the Offense
Also 20 Year old D PETEY is going to be TOP4 for sure
This kid is going to be good
Also they better not trade Boeser
