  1. over payment. He's bottom pair D pending UFA D man that costs a 2nd, 3rd from the Pars trade and a 4th? Wtf is that

  2. Did anyone think when they traded for Toews for 2 2nd picks , that was an amazing trade but at the time , everyone was saying that’s way too much

  3. with Manson so prone to injury I see Lindgren as a perfect guy to put with Girard and give the avs d core much needed depth, will be interesting to see if anything happens with manson by the trade deadline, I love the guy but he's struggled with availability due to injuries a lot the last few seasons

  4. The longer I sit with this trade the more that I like it, its essentially a no risk upgrade to the D core. If it turns out Lindgren extends with the Avs for more years then it becomes even better.
The only thing worth noting that hasn't been mentioned yet is that this is the Avs management spending some of Landy's LTIR money. The Avs now have a little over 3 million in cap space remaining so a trade for Ferraro now completely revamps the D core as you guys mentioned. I'm here for the re-vamped D core but I don't think it should be lost in the noise that this trade pretty well keeps Landy hard stuck on LTIR, barring some cap shenanigans and someone else going on LTIR with enough cap space to activate Landy before play offs.

  5. It's not about using 2nd round pick to draft some it's THIS is the return for 2nd, a 4th AND. A guy that you gave up a 3rd round for two months ago….

You can spin this forever but this was poor asset management and it is becoming typical in MCFARLAND trades!

  6. Rewatching with the live chat replay right now. Lots of people complaining about not picking up Valimaki from waivers. You guys do realize all 31 teams passed on him, right? As in, there is something going on behind the curtains that makes him not viable. Something beyond his play.
Also someone said Parssinen was awful. That is a massive overreaction to his performance in a 2nd line setting. Guy is good on the boards and decent puck possession guy. Ideal for an everyday bottom 6 forward. Its just too bad he goes to NYR. They're terrible with young forwards.

  7. Just talked to a big New York Rangers fan who told me this. Lindgren is finally feeling better after his jaw healed, after having it broken in a preseason fight. He was in so much obvious pain, he clearly didn't look himself. Looking better the last few games, after getting near 100%. If Manson is out for the rest of the year, this is a great trade for the Avs.

  8. This feels so reminiscent of when we got Mackenzie Blackwood. At least in the talk I saw, people were confused and didn't really like the wholesale change of goaltenders. And now, people LOVE our goaltender tandem. Guys, how many more moves does the front office need to make before yall start trusting them. Are they all going to be slam dunks? No. But this front office is trying to set us up for a cup NOW. I think Lindgren was a good addition on paper and now, like they said, he's just gotta come in and prove it.
