  1. “We can’t handle the Panthers, we need to play Ottawa”

*Ottawa loses making it more likely we play them.

Leafs Fans: “Oh no we looked so awful we’re gonna lose against Florida”

  2. Let’s see what happens tonight, they ain’t beating TB ( yes 3-0 against them) but not tonight. TB will take first and Toronto will most surely be playing the Panthers. They won’t beat Maurice’s team. And the real problem is these players the Leafs overpaid are not that good, if they were the Leafs would have had multiple playoff runs. Look at Zito’s team he put together a team of allstars on Florida and Did Not!!! Did not overpay them. And AM and Willy and MM gets drilled by these guys regularly. But we have known this long before Florida got good which has only been for 3 or 4 years. Leafs have blown so many winnable series throughout these 8 years of playoff failure. Bye bye again in the first round😂 1-8 in playoffs series. Chokers

  3. Toronto and Florida are even teams, Leafs have more finishing talent. Toronto won the game they "wanted" more and Florida won the game they "wanted" more.

  4. Given the lack of effort, did Toronto take this as a scheduled loss in an attempt to save themselves against the lightning, I guess we will see tonight.

  5. Steve being the rational one feels odd. As a non leaf fan I am probably one of the horrible ones… but honestly it is good to live in a rational place occasionally.

  6. Hey Steve .. I might be the minority here, buuuuut . I almost never watch the LFRs after a loss .
I never miss one when they win though .

  7. this game does not matter. we beat the panthers last week. one loss, even to a division rival you have an outside shot of playing in the first round, doesn't submarine your entire season. we've got 5 games left. none of them matter. unless they go 0-5 the results in those games have no bearing on the team heading into the playoffs. it's fine, or maybe it's not, but one game on april 8th doesn't determine that. Keep the faith.

  8. I think leafs threw so they didn’t have to play the panthers in the first round. I know how that sounds, but honestly I don’t think I can handle another Florida round whether it’s Tampa or the panthers.

  9. Woll made a ton of unreal saves last night, but I also found he caused so many mistakes outside the net last night causing some of those shots…. As for the rest of the team last night it was one of those nights where they were just bumping into each other. No hate they will do better tonight!

  10. Panthers lose 5 in a row – "They're throwing to get the Leafs!!!"

Panthers finally win a game – "We can't beat this unstoppable juggernaut"

lmaoo the loser mentality with some fans is way too strong. Y'all should watch baseball or something

  11. Leafs got outshot 6 on 5 advantage with empty net, how can this happen? Marner has more saves than Bob. in last minutes of the game.

  12. Fully understand that every team is going to have off-nights and you can't get to a 10 on every one…. But the difference between the Panthers and the Leafs is that the Panthers have won before, just last season in fact. The Leafs have lost in the 1st round 7 of the last 8 seasons, they should have a different hunger & drive than virtually any other team in the League. They've been outshot like 80% of games this season, and I am really tired of hearing how they usually lead in high-danger chances. I agree there is something there to be reassured by, but if you look at past cup winners it is just so rare for them to get outshot and out-chanced to this degree. The Leafs don't even carry play, their offensive zone time is brutal as well, it's not like they are controlling the game and just not shooting until it's a high-danger chance. Florida should be an opponent they get up for EVERY time, and I am so exhausted telling myself these games don't matter and things will be different in the playoffs, that is insanity at this point.

  13. I am one who watches when Leafs lose (Habs fan) but also you are great at being self deprecating and entertaining so there. Credit to you

  14. Im actually happy they lost bec i think panthers are very sneaky with who they want to play in the playoffs 🤔

  15. I truly believe the reason why you get more views when the leafs lose, is because that is when your humour SHINES. You have a real genuine comedic talent. And it’s easier to mask the pain of losing with humour. I can relate. You’re the best Steve! Win or lose.

  16. Will Leaf fan ever understand the Canadian tax? Auston making 15mil he walks away with 8-9mil at the end of the year Barkov makes 10 but walks away with 8-9mil.. Basically cause our taxes are ridiculous in Canada we have to pay players more.. why I always say the salary capp should be adjusted evenly or get rid of it completely and let the better/richer teams spend the money they have like in most other sports!

  17. they have 2 back to back games , i didnt , like the the game , but i also belive , its all part of stradagy , lol yep cant spell , but i love the leafes

  18. Well… I didn't think they played all THAT badly. They're still not shooting the puck, but they hung in there defensively against the Stanley Cup Champions, so it's not so bad.

  19. I hope Austin is saving him self for the play offs because he sure didn’t work very hard last night. One shot on goal Wow!!!

  20. I hope Austin is saving him self for the play offs because he sure didn’t work very hard last night. One shot on goal Wow!!! Was❤ DC

  21. I think this was the best thing to happen to The Leafs. They look like they have first in The Atlantic. They don't want to face Florida in the first round. This loss helped Florida stay in third place. It is great for them. Not saying that Ottawa would be an easy opponent but The Leafs don't have the emotional scars with them as they do with The Panthers. The game The Leafs need to win is against Tampa Bay, to help make sure they don't win The Atlantic.

  22. My exact feelings Steve, Tampa is the more important game to win and I'd like the intensity for Montreal as well. I do love the "1" Achilles comment. The toughest match up is always against whoever they match up with. I'm a little concerned about Ottawa first round, moreso than any others, they are underestimated as a team and now that they have solid goaltending they are not a team to be taken lightly.

  23. They played timid.

    That's it.

The team veterans, the "core 4" as they're called, need to learn to play with more sincere attitude and get under the skin of their opponents, especially when they're being shut down like they were.
They need to be the ones who open the game up for the team.
When they get shut down, they need to get pissed and play with more punchiness.

That's the only way this team wins games consistently against teams like the Panthers.

  24. I was at the game Steve, your take is very generous. Leafs didn't hit, didn't win many puck battles and were seriously outplayed from the 4 minute mark on out. Woll was amazing and kept it barely watchable. Unless the Leafs are willing to play more physically I fear the same old song where second and third verses will be the same as the first.

  25. Stop making excuses for Morgan, he’s an absolute dumpster fire. He looks so lost out there 80% of the time. He needs to take a breather and sit once McCabe comes back and keep Myers in the lineup. He’s HORRIBLE!!!

  26. the tandem last year was like the your ex you are insecure about, and now its the partner you can leave out your phone with.

  27. At the end of the day, regardless of what they do the rest of the season it will feel like Groundhog Day unless/until they win round 1 in 6 or less

  28. I admit, I am more likely to watch an LFR after a loss. It's not to see Steve miserable. I have a need to have the loss explained to me. Who wasn't playing well? Did the refs miss calls? Bad lines? As Bill Watters always said, "you never critique a win".
