Detroit has traded for everybody else's players; the ones they drafted and tried to develop are pretty much all gone. They got a lot of older top players from other teams, and they still can't make the playoffs. It's bizarre. Back in the day, they would just buy Stanley cups before they instituted salary caps.

Montreal is lucky that Detroit couldn't hit the broad side of a barn tonight. 3:09 , 5:56. 6:19 Big names on Detroit missing empty nets, and fumbling with the puck instead of one-touch hockey …. easily could have gone the other way. . Also if Monty touches that breakaway shot which i think he did with the knob of a his stick…7:00 just wow!!! I think Montambault is low-key the most improved player on the squad in the last three weeks. And that is on a team with many players on heaters right now. But i haven't seen the Monty 'one freebie a game' goals like was saw in March!!! Go habs go!!!

It wasn't always pretty, but they founda way to win and sealed it with two empty netters. In Tennis they say that even when a champion has a bad day, they still find a way to win. well, looks like the Habs are able to find a way pretty consistently now!

Watching this game with Detroit, it certainly looked like both the hockey Gods and Lady Luck chose Montreal to win the game.
Now with the news today that Demidov has been released from his contract to play with Montreal completely changes the odds on them making it to the SC finals.
