  1. He's on an island. Generational talent. I just laugh every time some hater or whatever tries to downplay him or compare their guy to him lol. Even they know. He's alone at the top.

  2. I am sure some teams don't even have a forward with 30 goals this season.
Makar is the best offensive D in NHL !

  3. "Generational" gets thrown around too casually these days but there is no other word to describe Cale Makar. He will be one of the best defensemen ever when it's all said and done

  4. I still remember watching his first goal. It came in his NHL debut in the playoffs against the Flames. It was his first shot he took in the NHL and he scored. His mom and dad, who had barely made it to the game, were in tears of joy.

  5. There is an argument to be made that MacKinnon might be the best player in the league right now – but he might still be the second best player on his team. Because Makar is ridiculous. Top-10 in points this season. 30+ goals, 60+ assists. Back-to-back 90 point seasons, even though the league is a little less points happy this year. He should probably be looking at his third or fourth Norris, not his second. And he better take home the silverware this year, because he no only performs at a high level, he's an ox who shows up game-in and game-out, and there is no ability like availability.

  6. It's crazy how Mike Green was Alex Ovechkin's teammate back when he scored 30 goals. Green is actually younger than Ovechkin by a few weeks, but he has been out off the NHL for 5 seasons. Meanwhile Ovechkin has 40 goals this season, while being older than Mike Green.

Mike Green's 30 goal season was a fluke, he only had 150 in his career. Makar could pass that next season: he already has 116. Makar has as good a chance as anyone to pass Bourque's all time record of 410 goals for a defenseman. He's barely a quarter of the way there, so he probably won't break it. It's crazy that he's even got a chance.
