    People always take this complaining the wrong way and just call you ungrateful since they just won the cup. And no one seems to understand what I am saying about Maurice's system. But I believe it is not sustainable for 82 games a year in the regular season. Like in 22, after december its a major dip in energy and scoring. 23 was an outlier since I think they were fueled by the want and emotions of winning since they came so close last season and were embarrassed in the finals. We all want whats best for the team. People are just going to say they just won why are you so upset. They dont seem to be thinking about the future. We WILL lose several players this summer, and I can see a team like Detroit if they are smart enough pay Mackie more than we can offer. So of course I want them to make the best of their time NOW before they go back into mediocracy. It is just the same thing for 3 hours every night, cycle cycle, cycle it below, back to winger, back below, either to defense or someone in the middle, and it either gets blasted wide, blocked, deflected, shot right into the goalie, or they lose it because every team knows how to play against it and always knows where the puck is heading next. Of course I am not saying this system is bad in the playoffs, obviously it is good since it is DESIGNED to outwork the other team in a SERIES of meeting the same team over and over, not new ones for 82 games a year. Obviously they can score as well, evident from the Brunette system, which I am NOT endorsing, so to see them all just do nothing offensively the common factor is this system. I just look at a team like Tampa, and sure they utilize cycling but its not the only thing they do in the o zone and they dont play this playoff style, and yet they still can score lots of goals and not let in many. I think Maurice needs to take the best of both systems for the regular season. Thanks for reading my essay 🙏

    I think they got Marchand as a replacement for Chucky as he won't be back this year. Groin injuries take ages to get over and isn't something you want to rush, as evidenced by 4 nations finals.
    Brad just hasnt really been the pest he has been known as in the past.
    The boys just seem to be in a holding pattern waiting for the finals to start. Hopefully after not busting yourself for a few games, they will be ready to fire when it matters and I dont think it really matters who we face in the first round, all the teams are good.

    Our problems are literally not getting goals. Despite the losing streak we clenched because the leafs beat columbus.
