Great day but also a day that’s painful for Caps fans. Incredibly solid for the NHL to be able to get this on national television and watch one of the best, if not the very best to ever play the game. Arguably the G8OT. The sad realization is the fact that now that this record is in the rear view he’s probably going to retire or at the least go play for an insane amount of cash in Russia. It’s so wild to grasp the fact that he’s been here for 21 years. We’re not gonna know how to react watching the Caps and the 8 isn’t out there anymore and never will be again. Hopefully we make a run and get our hands on another Cup to send Ovi off to his greener pastures.
