Thought Andersons absence was noticable
Before the season started, I did not predict the Habs to make the playoffs this year, but am proud to say I did predict Gallagher would get 20 this year if he remained healthy. We often forget that Gallagher was on our first line for many years, and moreover, whatever line he was on, it would always turn out to be our best line. We often forget that when a line would be struggling, we would put Gallagher on that line, and all of a sudden, that line would start to produce. THAT was why Bergevin paid him back for his efforts and consistent contributions. So happy for number 11, and for us, the fans!
Go Habs Go Baby!!!!
Within a couple seasons, I think it's possible habs will have 3 100+ point players.
Once that top line hits it's prime, I think Suzy has 50 goal, 114 point type potential.
Caufy and Demidov being the other 2. Slaf should be a Point per game player.
Hutson? Shit, he might make it 4 guys to hit 100 points.
GHG!!!
If second half Slaf can be a full season Slaf next season.
With Huston manning PP1 from game 1 next season.
With Caufield showing a more complete game.
A healthy Laine and Demidov arrival
Hey Now!!!
Suzuki 90-100 pts is not out of reach.
We need to be careful. 29 giveaways, only 4 shots in the 1st period and 15 through 2 last night. Flyers outskated them in the first two periods. It was only brilliant individual efforts from Hutson & Suzuki (and Gallagher with some help from Evans) that saved them. Today is a critical game to win. Red Wings, Senators and Leafs could all be losses if they play like they did last night. Savard and Laine are really slow and Laine is constantly making poor decisions and losing the puck (i.e. first couple of powerplays he was terrible for losing the puck trying to be cute instead of getting it deep). Matheson was not great in the last few minutes, poor decision to lose puck in his zone before his penalty that lead to faceoff and chance for Flyers to pull goalie. I think Xjekaj and Roy would have been much better choices for the pace of the game and the need for a scoring touch – rather than Savard and one of guys that can't score such as Armia (and if he is hurt, don't play him). Evans looked much better with Gallagher. Matheson is constantly making mistakes yet Xjekah makes one mistake and is gone for multiple games. Should be Guhle/Carrier, Struble/Hutson, and Xjekaj/Matheson.
I'll show my age a little here, but I remember my fav number was #10 and I recall some of the 70's cups. I remember when Lafluer and Marcel Dionne were probably the best 2 players in the NHL. Those were fun times to be a habs fan but this is starting to feel like the early stages of another good time. And the leafs still haven't won a cup in my lifetime 🤪
Exactly. Handle your own business and you will be rewarded with a first round date with the Leafs. Remember when?
or Capitals
What do you think of Dvorac Mailloux and a pick. for Granlund in Calgary
Left shot center?
This Habs era will not be a team short on talent that relies on the goaltender….it will be aesthetically more pleasing to watch than any Habs team we've seen in decades. You can't win Cups centering your organization around the goaltender….you can have success like the Bergevin/Price Habs and Hasek Sabres showed but you will eventually run up against a more talented squad that the goalie won't be able to overcome.
We wanna see Ivan 88 vs. the great 8 in the playoffs. Somebody get to work on this.
