Peterson is a bust guys to soft Suter goes to the dorty areas Peterson falls down if he gets even close
It's really hard for me to take your opinion seriously. You always look at a few stats and ignore everything else and determine player A is better than Player B. How can you be so sure all the time when you completely don't understand analytics?
There is no debate at all that Petey is much better player this season than Suter. If Suter play Petey's tough mins, he'd get destroy. Not a coincidence when Petey is out, the team is so much worst defensively.
If you understand analytics, you'd know Juulsen is a horrible D regardless of how much he makes and where he's at on the depth chart. He is outscored 2-1 at Even strength. Up to the time Miller was traded, he only had a few more points than Petey. Petey's defensively analytics was a lot better.
Drance is from the Athletic, there is a reason why you need to pay for a subscription. They do a lot of research on in depth analysis on the numbers that is hard to get anywhere else. Drance opinion is more legit.

Also Bieska said Petey is playing like a third center, he didn't say for the full season. Petey did have 26 P in first 27 games. Part of the season he was playing like a number 1 center, the number back that up. You're definitely right that Petey has not earned his 11.6 M this year. This part, no argument from me.
Criticize Petey and watch the Canucks fans all come to hate on you. Fanbase is a joke.
Petey's 45 P/64 games is prorated to 52 P/74 games. 10 more points difference is not close at all. I find it very funny you always love to use hits and blocked shots. How convenient you choose to ignore those two stats. Is it because Petey has around 100% more blocked shots than Suter, around 50% more hits. Better faceoff by 5% as well, more takeaways and less giveaways, higher blocked passes. Expected xgf/xga difference for Petey is 5.0 vs 1.6 for Suter which means he control play a lot more. Canucks are 3 4 4 without Petey this year, their team's Goals against average is 3.09. Without him it's 3.63. Without Petey in the lineup makes a hugh difference.
You're right Suter is great on the pk. Petey didn't play much on the pk this year, he did last year, I did take a 2 year PK sample size and the results determine they are about the same level on the pk. Petey's PK GA per a 60 and High danger shot against is 5.49 and 23.92 vs Suter's 5.59 and 23.06. This confirmed that if Tocchet use Petey on the pk. The results are about the same.
The different is I do a deep analysis and look at close to everything. You decided to look at a few stats that benefit Suter and call it a day. It doesn't work that way. Lol. If you want me to show you where I got these numbers, please let me know.
Didn't ownership veto any Boeser and Suter trade seeing as how he thought they would help get us to the playoffs? How'd that work out lol. Now they're going to walk to other teams for nothing.
