  1. As a stars fan I want them to steal the 1 seed and play the Wild round 1. Would give Heiskanen extra time to get right.

The last two years the playoff formatting has killed the Stars. They seemed to have run out of gas in the WCF two years in a row with the path the formatting has given them. It’d be nice to not have to go through an absolute gauntlet again.

  2. speaking as a Florida hockey fan who follos and roots for the Toronto Maple leafs…Nobody in Florida at all cares about hockey. So in Florida VS floribattle would literally generate nothing. But my hopes are that they beat each other up in round one and my Toronto Team can see them in round 2 and I can enjoy going to one of the games. 😂

  3. as a Leafs fan, I have to say, the Leafs aren't intimidating at all, they haven't since a long, long time (not since the likes of Tucker and Corson roams the ice, Wendel Clark before that) – they are getting better in that department, though, but no team has any fear facing the Leafs – that's not to say it won't be difficult, the Leafs is a skilled team, no doubt about that, and they can be tough … but you aren't the least intimidated as you would be facing the Panthers.

hockey is a game of skill, talent, toughness, and because of its physical nature, intimidation still counts for something.
there's a huge difference between facing a team that is tough and can take a licking, it's another facing a team that can punch you in the face back.

  4. Montreal has the reputation of being Giant killers and then tanking against easier opponents. As a Montreal fan I wouldn't be surprised if they make it and take out the Capitals in round one. Wouldn't be the first time they were 8th and won a round 1… in fact it's the norm for Montreal. The hockey culture in Montreal really propels the team to show up for big moments.

  5. The capitals need to clean up defensively and hope that Thompson is full on a-okay going into round 1.

Theyve been underestimated for 2 years now, they are magic when they are.

  6. Many talk about going to Conf playoffs, but then they get so excited about “battle of …”. The divisional playoffs are so great right from game 1. If Edmonton and LA meet again 😂😂😂😂 it’s just a must see massacre. It’s like watching the Cubs or Leafs in the playoffs. You just know LA is going to be entertaining but losers. The entire Atlantic Division is nothing but hate. This playoff format is PERFECT. So it’s mostly divisional, but accounts for the Central being much stronger than the Pacific.

  7. don't sleep on the canes. been a canes fan my whole life and this is one of my favorite squads we've had. This team is deep, unified and motivated, and you can't ignore the home ice advantage. Only concern is goalkeeping and power play

  8. Not scared of Washington, too focused on individual accomplishments. I’m a Leafs fan who watched the guys force feed Matthews’ chase for 70 goals last season instead of preparing for playoff style hockey.

  9. I was hoping oilers vs a wild card but damn injuries whoever if healthy with full roster is like our ods 😊

  10. you're def not watching Devils games if you think they're getting swept. They play a simpler game without Jack, relying on a sound defensive back structure. And they're whole heartedly better withOUT Dougie. Dougie been giving the puck away left and right only to trade of 9 goals from the blue line.

  11. As a longtime Avs fan that has been shattered by Dallas playoff series for the last 25 years, I feel very different this time. I want Dallas in the first round, we are going to light them up this time and drop them in 6 games maximum. This Avs team has massive 2022 vibes around it, especially with Landeskog on the verge of coming back. I think everyone in the West is getting steamrolled by Colorado just like they did 3 years ago.

  12. Where do my fellow Americans watch hockey? I'm a Devils fan and the only way I've been able to watch MOST of the games is to have DirecTV(with MSG), and ESPN+ but even that doesn't get me every single game.

  13. Hey brother. Great vid. Pretty much dead on the nose on your commentary. I just saw MIN vs NYR live at MSG. It was a mistake riddled hockey game. Absent Kaprizov, I agree MIN is not scaring anyone. I also wonder what is going on with Leon and Connor. Leon just re-aggravated his injury. This year, he was actually better than Connor, on the whole. In the East, I would guess CBJ would make the playoffs, given the leadership Monahan has delivered. But their goaltending has been atrocious down the stretch. Regarding the Habs, they are having so much fun, and that's how they made their 2021 run. Is Monty a Price? No. But he does have some Binnington to his game. They should be an easy out. But they may be the loosest team in the East from a psychology perspective. In the East, it almost feels like CAR has the depth and experience to make their run this year, mindful we say that every year. I think whoever has the best backend will win the Cup this year. This is where I might worry just a bit about DAL, contingent on Heiskanen's injury. They really could have used one more redwood at the deadline, even though they won the Rant lottery. In some ways, COL did what DAL didn't do. They gave up some "O" to mimic the Vegas model. Can Mack Black have a run? Maybe. But ironically, it is Darcy Kuemper who has been the revelation this year. He remains under not overrated, the "Danault Effect" notwithstanding. The Kings are the Canes of the West. All this said, in the New NHL, I don't think there is one way to win a Cup. Special teams can be just as impactful as goaltending.

  14. Canes are the most dangerous team in the NHL at the moment. I really have never seen them play like this. They seem to be mentally preparing themselves for the playoffs. These guys are contenders. Make no mistake about it.
