  1. I hoped for more for Frederic after the blackhawks got a 1st and Knight for Seth Jones who was begging to be traded.

  2. Frankly the Bruins got more than I thought they would for him. I was figuring a 3rd. Good to see some picks coming in.

  3. Hahaha, i bet Edmonton called the bruins about Carlo and somehow Sweens conned Bowman into taking freddy and Jones! Fastest fax ever made to the nhl office!

  4. You are absolutely right Florida broke Don Sweeney and the Bruins. We dont sign Zadorov or Jones without dwelling on the Florida series. Probably dont even take Kastelic in the Ullmark trade or draft Letourneau cause hes 6ft 7 either. Sweeney wanted size and grit and found out the NHL is a speed and skill game the hard way

  5. I think a lot of this season for Fred boils down to this – extension talks in the offseason went nowhere. Fred came to the rude awakening that the team wasn't particularly interested in keeping him. The "mind wasn't on hockey" comment early the year was him saying he was coming to terms with this probably being his last season in Boston. His performance this year was that of a player who realized he was just playing out the string.

I believe the same thing happened with Debrusk last year.

  6. One Punch Man is now an Oiler.

Calling it now. Oilers win the cup. I’m getting a Freddy Jersey. (Only if my prediction comes true)

I know there was another Bruin who got traded away that I commented. Might have been DeBrusk. I’d be getting their Jersey, should their new team win the cup.

I’m sure if someone could pull up my comment history on this channel. You’d find out who it was.

  7. The day frederic stopped fighting he basically became worthless. The bruins have had too many passengers on the team for years.

  8. being a hockey east guy, lachance is one big S.O.B and he played well when he came up to Maine this year

  9. Trent Frederic is a limited guy, that's wildly inconsistently offensively, whose hockey IQ is below average, whose average defensively at best & who gives them next to nothing on special teams

Frederic is also a fake tough guy whose physical reputation far exceeds the reality of Trent Frederic, a guy that only fights 40 year olds and weaklings these days

Oh and did I mention he's injured, having a turd of a season and that he's on an expiring contract?

Getting a 2nd round pick for him is win on one level, however, let's also judge the asset

Frederic was a first round pick. All they got for him was a 2nd round pick and he was nothing but a turd in the post season his entire career in Boston

These are facts Bruins Homers, not opinions

As for Max Wanner, he has far more upside than what has been presented here

Here's an actual scouting report on Wanner from inside Edmonton from guys that actually covered him and have seen him develop unlike anyone on Bruins social media

Do you know how rare it is for a 7th round pick to get quickly signed to an ELC? It not only has rarely happened with the Bruins in their history, that has rarely happened in the last 20 years with many NHL teams

Yes, 7th rounders get signed here and there but it's usually after 4-6 years after being drafted and even then it's the exception not the rule.

To have a 7th rounder sign to an ELC after about just a year and half after being drafted, again, that's beyond a rarity for any NHL team and that's exactly what happened with Wanner in Edmonton

This doesn't mean Wanner is some kind of future #1 D-man. Not even close.

It just means it looks like Wanner may very well be a real NHL player at RHD that is on track to likely become a 3rd line, stat a home guy that can contribute a bit on the PK.

Yes, Wanner has had a poor sophomore pro season but that has largely been because he's been injured

Wanner is 100% now the Bruins best and closest RHD to the NHL prospect wise and it's not even remotely a close race when you compare him to the other D prospects in the Bruins largely terrible farm system right now

Getting rid of Max Jones frees up Cap Space as well as an NHL contract spot which they can immediately use to sign Ty Gallagher, a player they will lose soon if they don't sign to an ELC.

Gallagher is another 7th rounder but he's had a great year out west and looks like he may be a bottom pair, offensive minded guy in the NHL one day.

But don't be fooled Bruins homers.

Frederic was a first round pick. He was a post season turd and all they got in return was a 2nd round pick. Bruins homers and Don Sweeney Apologists, that's called going backwards in terms of the asset

Using a 1st that gave you ultimately very little, especially in the post season, that blocked young players from NHL roster spots, who costed you millions or dollars, that you could only turn into a 2nd round pick….

Um, Don Sweeney Apologists, that's called "bad"

Still getting anything for Frederic and Jones are wins on some level so, awesome?🤣

  10. Good for Freddy.
Gets a real chance to win a cup in Edmonton.
    He will be missed.
Played hard and will always be a gutsy Bruin to me.

  11. This trade seems to be pretty good value for a guy who seemed to be walking at the end of the season. I just hope we can draft well with the picks. Thanks for the breakdown!

  12. LQF: …Rooting for Edmonton isn't so bad, right?….
ME: What?!?! Are you crazy?? Back in the 80s when I was playing hockey in junior high and high school, we HATED….
LQF: …unless you were alive in the 80s, I guess…
ME: YEAH! How could you NOT remember that Stanley Cup where… oh wait – you weren't around back then….. GO Bs!!!!!!!

  13. Freddie, was lucky to play here as long as he did. Horrible effort in many games this year and stretches of absolutely no offense. Stopped hitting two years ago and for a #1 to be a 3rd and fourth liner typical Sweeney Neely pick. And for that reason like Debust, those guys never want to admit their failure with number ones.
