This sort of retaliation is annoying and slows the game down. This is a nothing play that deserves no attention from anyone, meaning that everyone can carry on as normal and enjoy a decent game of hockey.
Wilson is one of the biggest embellishers in the league. Tries to run Aho, misses, gets the slightest tap with a stick, and drops to the ice in agony. By then, his diaper was full, so he threw a big tantrum.
This isn't about the hit or the stick, it's about Wilson wanting to "send a message" for the playoffs in a blowout game where his actions won't matter. If it wasn't that play then it would have been something else. The game turning into chaos was intentional and now he can trot out the whole revenge angle. He's gotten under the skin of a team that doesn't really want to play that way and you know that he is one hundred percent pleased with himself. Like most bullies, he just wanted an excuse.

Aho is such a goon, someone should protect poor Tom Wilson! 🤣
Yeah, it wasn't that bad of a hit, and the stick hit was incidental. As things fell apart it just kept escalating

A(ss)ho(le) is slick with his stick and his knee-on-knee targeting.
