I said from the start ‘ wrong coach for rebuilding ream ‘ but give him benefit of doubt ‘ as time went on I could see it was a mistake
A poorly run team since the end of the Snider era. No system. No philosophy. Just ongoing management and player turnover.
From what former players have said about tort it seems like it’s 50/50 on players that either like him or hate him. There doesn’t seem to be a middle. DB KJ DH know that you can’t have half the room and you can’t build a team if half the players don’t want to play for him.

Briere screwed this one up. Flyers are going to struggle even longer now. Torts was a great coach for this team. They never gave him a goaltender.

I say terrible decision ! Should have waited,why try winning now? Drop as low as they can for best draft chances.

When Tortorella said what he said in that post game presser, he was basically telling Danny, Keith, and Dan "I quit". He was never happy with the goaltending position from the get go this season. He said at the start of the season, ”The goaltending scares the shit out of me.". He was just burned out at that point.
19 coaches Al? I expect you to stick around to at least 25😊. Keep up the great work Ashlyn and Al.
He is washed up. HE is the old style head game coach. That style doesn't work out anymore.
Just a sidelight comment, does Ashley need to play with her water bottle on camera? Not a great look for many reasons.
Time for Comcast to sell the Flyers. This organization needs a complete overhaul.

What I’m not understanding is that everyone knew this was a rebuilding that started last year. Tortorella is not a rebuilding, especially with a bunch of rookies and two year experience. This young, talented team wasn’t just losing, but went back to back being shutout consistently. Even when some of their opponents wasn’t scoring, the flyers defense left their goalie hung out to dry!!! Now we know why the flyers could’nt get some players in trades they wanted. 🤔
Just face it, the players didn’t want to play for him anymore.

The organization sucks and the players are AHL at best aside of michkov and you wonder why nobody wants to come here. They fire a coach with 8 games left and here comes danny who sounds like it’s his first day on the job telling the players to finish strong! Meanwhile let’s give up
the chance for 3rd overall in the draft. I hate this team organization and mostly Comcast. I wouldn’t be surprised if they win the next 8 games and push this team back another decade.

It's difficult to be a nice guy and still have to set boundaries and punishments for others.
Let's not forget that we actually had a goalie in Hart, but he got himself locked up for being an idiot. So now we have to go through the nightmare of finding a Flyers goalie through the draft. How about some defenseman that can actually defend??!! And a pure goal scorer. Not a bunch of average JAG's.

Love Torts and think he was a positive step for this team. All the pundits that think he was wrong for this team have no idea what athletes or real professionals are about and only make money sh…ng on others.
Sad the way it ended but he made big mistakes with some players down the stretch the past two years and has to own it.
He cares so much and thought he could will them to the playoffs but that's unrealistic. He f'd up and has to own it.
Expected to make the playoffs as opposed to dead last in the division? 29 out of 32 power play rank? fall apart? How about just plain stink under that coach. Torts is not a babysitter type coach. This is a young emotionally sensitive team. Torts is a feet to the fire hold everybody accountable old school style coach. He wanted to leave the gen Z diapers at home and man up. Best wishes Torts we will miss you.

Please bring in talent from successful teams and stop the "all boys network"…the Flyers are playing free for all, shoot em up hockey and will crash..We had a real coach but not players..
