No disrespect to Casper but he's made a career out of being mediocre.
I can't believe he's been to as many grand slam finals as he has.
He does everything good but nothing really exceptional.
I'm glad both Ruud and Rublev have been done early on. Not that I dislike them or anything, but I believe they've hit their ceiling. Prefer them to be in the 11-20 rank than top 10. Want to see fresh blood moving up and challenging likes of Alcaraz and Sinner (as well as Djokovic, Zverev and Medvedev)
the youngers are coming
Yikes. A whole generation is gone…
Rublev, Felix, Titsipas, Ruud, Coric. 😅
I sometimes don’t understand why Ruud doesn’t take opportunities to hit a more flat ball, especially on the backhand side. I feel like he could win so many more points, like why does he choose not to?
I think monfils is better than ruud
Mencik machac lehechka are top
Oh my goodness, I just won a point! I must shake my fist!!!
Mensik, Perricard and Joao Fonseca are the next young guys getting better and better. Joao Fonseca beat Mensik at Next GEN atp finals, has beaten Arthur Fils twice and send Rublev back home in straight sets.
Bad match up for Ruud. He never does well against tall players as his topspin plays right into their strike zone. His other mistake here is he played this like a clay court match. Yes the AO court plays very slow but anyone healthy and reasonably fast will get to the ball with enough time to line up a commanding shot. He’s gotta learn how to flatten the ball and make it awkward for his opponents
I like Casper but hes taking away his opportunities to hit winners with his style. Topspin is important for sure but he kills all the speed on the ball, wish he would learn to hit a bit flatter
Stop with the winner in the thumbnail for freak’s sake… like why is this so hard to understand … 😓😐😐
I've never seen a "Top 10 player" Lose so early in so many grand slam events.
Of course, this is not an upset. Ruud is a poor man's version of Nadal, excelling on clay only through moon balling.
NO SPOILERS IN THUMBAILS PLEASE. downvote!
Mensik just overpowered Ruud…n this is another upset after Fonseca knocked out Rublev. N I feel Mensik,,like Fonseca, hasnt even tapped into all his potential. I exoect tobsee great things from these players n Mpetshi-Pericard❤❤❤
Bueno Mensik, y es una lástima por Casper es un gran jugador.
👍👍🇨🇱
Ruud has gotten the most out of his career but mediocrity ahead to bad
Ruud is tooooo Humble
/mensheek/
Crucial year for top seed losers who may not make it to the ATP
Finals and even finish the year in the Top 10 (current ranking):
— Ruud (5)
— Rublev (10)
— Tsitsipas (12)
4:51 wow
Weird that people like Norrie, Ruud, Stefanos are already playing as if they're like 36 on the tail end of career, they really gotta figure it out tbh, too young to be consistently outplayed by these up and coming guys.
Mensik is an animal! Fearless!
Mensik has been performing well for quite some time. His success in the Grand Slam is not a surprise.
I think in the 2056 AO, someone in video editing will finally read the viewers comments and not post the winner in the thumbnail and spoil the suspense. Until then these morons will continue not to read comments
"
This guy is great
Mensik nice win…
Reminds me of prime Berdych the way he hits. A known Djokovic fan, he's defo capable of a deep run this year. A future slam winner.
루드는 잘했는데 상대가 진짜 잘해서 졌네요 진짜 재밌다 ㅎㅎ
tennis has became like squach. weird forehand grip as well. it a differtent sport alltogether
Ruud is one of the most humble and charismatic players on the tour, but his backhand is too pushy for him to make another deep run at the Majors. More and more players are figuring out to attack that side to open up the court on the forehand side. It hangs up, like my ex’s phone when I call her, and gives the opponent an opportunity to step into their next groundstroke and put him in the defensive. I hope he gets it together because I love his game and love seeing that infectious smile when he’s enjoying himself on the court.
These kids have never had to "adjust" to poly …it's all they've ever played with. It shows.
