Rangers Trade Zuccarello to Stars

This helps Dallas, but will it be enough to turn them around?

  1. Why u keep saying the stars getting trashed they’re in a playoff spot!!! They’re playing pretty solid lately

  2. For the NY Rangers, the win is…finally they can start to legit tank and hopefully speed up an excruciatingly slow rebuild and painful ā€œwin one, lose oneā€ pattern. GM Gorton wouldn’t have to trade Zucc if he packaged some of those picks he wasted to move up and get a guy to build around. As it stands the Rangers continue to be stuck in NHL purgatory. I’ll miss Zucc much like I miss all the lunch pail guys from that 2014 team. But let’s be real, the Ranger have one Stanley Cup in 70+ yrs for a reason. Rip the band-aid off Gorton and embrace a true rebuild.

  3. Zuccarello always struck me as an overrated player, as most Ranger players get inflated press. Still doubt Dallas makes the playoffs. they just laid an egg at home.

  4. You’re gonna be happy with Zucc! I’m gonna miss him, but now I’ll be rooting hard for you guys lol. He’s a leader and relentless player they just got a quality guy.

  5. The third round pick in 2020 becomes a first round pick if Dallas makes the association final… Wow. If Dallas doesnt pick first rounders 2 years in a row for zucharello its a loss in my opinion..

  6. Its a good trade for Dallas. they get a middling over-hyped forward (all ranger players are overhyped) but, they give up nothing basically. Stars won't go anywhere even if they make the playoffs (most likely not). and no chance in hell of Zuccarello signing in Dallas (he liked NY, he'll sign with the Islanders or devils).

  7. Now that I think about it
The Rangers gave up nothing to sign Zucc…only money
There’s a very strong possibility he resigns with the Rangers also for money
You’re going to need veteran presence in the room over the next few years so why not Zucc…even if he’s on the 3rd line…he will give you his best.
Rangers just got 2 high picks for letting Dallas borrow him for 5 months until Free Agency
Imagine that return to broadway opening night
    It’ll happen

  8. Lundqvist is holding back the development of the Rangers. That guy needs to be traded and they need to tank properly to get a top 5 draft pick. I know he doesn't want to leave but management needs to do it.

  9. Fire Jeff Gorton and Dolan should sell the team, trades away all the fan favorites and leaders for nothing, have an awful history with drafting, and expect us fans to go to the games

  10. who cares about hockey now days? Zucc was an overratedĀ  euro midget that was a 61 point scorerĀ  in his best year.

  11. I was giving up on the Stars. They have lost so many and looked bad : with the talent they have. Zucc is a breath of fresh air. Not a cure but a damn good start.

  12. I'm a wings fan. But I'm from NYC, and I go to ranger games often. I remember seeing zuc play for Norway in the Olympics. Vancouver i think. I said damn that kid is nasty.. he's gonna be in the NHL next year. Zucarello-assen on his jersey from elbow to elbow! Sad to see him go.

  13. Why did the rangers trade away most all of their elite players? (Callahan, Mcdonagh, Miller, Hayes, etc.)
