  1. The Oilers should get rid of Knob and see if Tocchet wants to come to Etown. Knob is not a good coach by any stretch, as soon as the team falters he starts mixing up the lines instead of playing with the lines that practiced together. Not only that but they need an actual coach, not somebody who'd rather be their buddy. Tocchet might be a good fit, IDK.

  2. It means that Tocchet doesn't see much, if any , significant improvement next year or the years after. Not much to look forward to.

  3. Of course, he is on his way to Philly….Rick Tocchet…where else would he want to go? Believe me, he cant wait to get out of there.

  4. Who knew that canucks would nose dive so badly after last year. Bad moves by management not improving defense after losing Zadorov and Cole. There hasn't been any significant improvement with trades and moves. Agree that Tochett puts too much emphasis on grinding hockey which is not suitable for all skilled players which results in boring hockey.

  5. 2 things I think need change:
    1) The Canucks have the worst zone entry in the league and give up the easiest zone entry.
    2) Petey moved to the left on the PP and no longer one-times the puck (hence being way down on goals).

  6. So we are going to loose Boeser, Suter, Tocchet and then Hughs and Demko in a year or two then this team has no identity and back to the basement

  7. When the club performs well, as a (hockey) Youtube listener, I want to hear all the commentary etc etc.
When the club does "other"… interest wanes…. it's just human nature. Last year Tocchet was a hero.
This year … not so much but, is that fair? … considering the club personnel and chemistry is considerably
different. I'd like T to stay.

  8. Mike Sullivan is the best replacement he’s literally a better version of Tochett offensively. And the familiarity with management and Tochett makes him perfect.

  9. U do not resign tochett because Hughes wants him there.. Hughes is most likely leaving anyways. And now u just doomed yourself for the last 2 years with Hughes anyways. I cannot watch this team they are so boring to watch. And they still can't win. They have had leads in each of the last 10 games ! And couldn't lock it down under tochs defensive style. So now they can't win with offense and can't win locking it down when they ahead. Sitting on leads does not work in this league anymore.

  10. The Tortorella firing was timed perfectly when the Canucks playoff hopes were dwindling and Tocchet has the best view of greener pastures.

  11. a coach’s salary does not go against the cap (& it’s never anywhere near as expensive as a top 6 forward or top 4 D , or starting goalie)..so it’s really negligible, if they want the guy they can pay the guy

  12. Give Quinn Hughes whatever he wants. Are you kidding me. Quinn Hughes will be signing with the New Jersey Devils then look who we will be stuck with when he is gone.

  13. You can't keep Tocchet just to please Hughes. And I don't think Tocchet wants to stay. Quinn will be fine.. include him in the process for choosing Toc's replacement. Frankly if Hughes thinks Tocchet is good for the team, he's an idiot. Tocchet isn't a good coach.

Vancouver should pray that Sullivan becomes available.

  14. That is amazing how Canucks fans just assume Hughes would be a reason Toc would stick around when Hughes himself is bouncing end of season. What you don't think Hughes and Toc who have a close relationship never had the 'talk'' lol. Hughes this tie next year will be getting ready for playoffs wearing a NJ Devils jersey

  15. Rick wants to return to Philadelphia, and the offer they're making him is far better than anything Vancouver will.
He's done with the Canucks and rightly so. So am I, again.

  16. Talk about rebuilding. Talk about getting the owners to tank the team. Talk about getting rid of the swedish players. Talk about getting rid of ep40. Otherwise rightly so nobody cares

  17. Bring AV back then? 🤣

Tochett is one of the best coach Canucks ever got. He won the Cup as a leading scorer on the Pens, while being a physical presence. This guy knows the game.

Canucks problem is a lack of a true 1st line. How many potential PPG guys we even have?

  18. Given the way Vancouver media goes, I wouldn't be surprised if there's much ado about nothing, and a week or a month later he signs and extension and it turns out they were just negotiating and working their way towards a deal.

  19. Can't blame Tocc for wanting to go to Philly, and we also need a change anyway. Maybe get Manny Malhotra in and let him sink his teeth in the big game.

  20. Van sucks. Owner is garbage. Management is crap. Fanbase is pathetic. Coaching is great, Tocchet and Foote and the Sedins.
The franchise is on a long road to the bottom.

  21. "This year"?! Try FIFTY YEARS!
Perhaps you may want to refrain from any and everyone constantly "going out there", young man.

  22. good riddance – he got way more credit than he deserved for last year's rebound and this season's results were a much more accurate reflection of his influence on the team. In 2022/23 Kuzmenko led the team in scoring but Tocchet willfully destroyed the highly successful pairing of Pettersson and Kuzmenko, drove Kuzmenko off the team and left Pettersson with no linemates he could be productive with.

  23. I would rather lose Hughes than have Tocchet for another year. He should've been fired in December before talk of trading Miller even kicked off

  24. I'm just very disappointed that they didn't trade all their free agents…They would have ended up with a first and two seconds and then they could have gone after them in the off-season of they wanted them back…Typical Canucks..

They don't know how to manage assets…..So why should I follow them if they don't even care themselves?
