The Oilers signed defenceman John Klingberg, for a one-year deal that has a salary of $1 million along with a $350,000 signing bonus. The total cap hit is reported to be $1.74 M as the salary is a prorated amount plus the signing bonus. A bit confusing… 🤔
Klingberg, at age 32, has not played in the NHL since November 2023, due to undergoing hip resurfacing surgery. It will take some time for Klingberg to get up to speed and ultimately may be s small gamble for the Oilers should he not get back to game-shape form. Only time will tell.
